The Connecticut Huskies women's ice hockey program represents the University of Connecticut. The Huskies compete in Hockey East.

History

The 1-0 shutout by Connecticut on November 13, 2010 ended New Hampshire’s 17-game unbeaten streak against the Huskies. The Huskies penalty kill was a perfect 6-of-6 on the weekend. The shutout on November 13 marked the first time the Wildcats were shut out at home since Nov. 28, 2004 (by Mercyhurst), a streak of 109 consecutive home games. [2] The Huskies will also play a game outdoors against Providence at Rentschler Field on February 13, 2011, as part of the Whalers Hockey Fest. There will be a game earlier that day featuring the men's team and Sacred Heart. [3]

Providence Friars

The Providence Friars are the athletic teams of Providence College. They compete in the Big East Conference for every sport except for ice hockey, where they compete in Hockey East. The Big East Conference was founded in 1979 by former athletic director and men's basketball coach Dave Gavitt. On December 15, 2012, Providence and the other seven Catholic, non-FBS schools announced that they were departing the Big East for a new conference; on March 7, 2013, it was officially confirmed that Providence's new conference would operate under the Big East name. The women's volleyball team, which had been an associate member of the America East Conference before the Big East split, remained in that conference for one more season before joining the Big East for the 2014 season.

The Connecticut Huskies men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents the University of Connecticut. The Huskies are a member of Hockey East. They play at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut.

Yale Bulldogs womens ice hockey

Yale University women's ice hockey (YWIH) is an NCAA Division I varsity ice hockey program at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.

The Boston University Terriers women's hockey team will represent Boston University in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Terriers are coached by Brian Durocher. Assisting Durocher are Katie Lachapelle, Allison Coomey and Todd Langlais.

The Boston College Eagles hockey team represented Boston College in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Eagles are coached by Katie King. King is assisted by Mike Doneghey and Courtney Kennedy.

It will be in exhibition play against Dawson College on September 25 at 7 p.m. The regular season began on the road at New Hampshire on October 3. UConn's regular season home opener was October 16 against the Syracuse Orange women's ice hockey program at 7 p.m.

The 2009–10 Northeastern Huskies women's hockey team will represent Northeastern University in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I women's hockey season. The Huskies are a member of the Eastern College Athletic Conference and will attempt to win the NCAA Women's Ice Hockey Championship. Dave Flint, who was named Northeastern's head women's hockey coach on June 23, 2008, will be an assistant coach for the U.S. national team at the 2010 Olympics. Serving as interim co-head coaches for the 2009–10 season are current assistant coaches Linda Lundrigan and Lauren McAuliffe.

New Hampshire Wildcats womens ice hockey

The New Hampshire Wildcats represent the University of New Hampshire. They have won five ECAC championships between 1986 and 1996. When the Wildcats joined Hockey East, they won four Hockey East titles from 2006 to 2009. The Wildcats have more wins than any other women's ice hockey program at 668 in its first 32 years. The Wildcats went undefeated in their initial 74 games (73-0-1) spanning the 1978 through 1982 seasons. A UNH goaltender has been declared Hockey East Goaltending Champion in the first six years of the league’s existence. From 2007 to 2009, UNH hosted NCAA Tournament Regional home games.


Julia Kathrin Marty is a member of the Switzerland women's national ice hockey team and also played for Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.

Maine Black Bears womens ice hockey

The Maine Black Bears women’s ice hockey team represents the University of Maine. The team plays their home games in Alfond Arena. The first year of Women’s Ice Hockey was in 1997–98. Up to the end of the 2016-17 season, the program record was 213-352-68 (.390). The Black Bears last Post-Season game was February 27, 2016

Boston University Terriers womens ice hockey

The Boston University Terriers women's ice hockey represent Boston University. The Terriers play in the Hockey East conference. Finishing their 10th season as a D-I varsity team, the Terriers have won five Hockey East Championships and have made six consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.

These are the highlights of the 2010-2011 Connecticut Huskies women's ice hockey season.

The 2010-11 Vermont Catamounts season was their sixth in Hockey East. Led by head coach Tim Bothwell, the Catamounts were unable to qualify for the NCAA hockey tournament. Of note, Roxanne Douville, who was a projected to be a top 10 CWHL draft pick, became only the second Vermont player to be named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team.

The 2010–11 Hockey East women's ice hockey season marked the continuation of the annual tradition of competitive ice hockey among Hockey East members.

2010–11 NCAA Division I mens ice hockey season

The 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began on October 2, 2010 and concluded with the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament's championship game on April 9, 2011 at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This was the 64th season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held and is the 116th year overall where an NCAA school fielded a team.

The Connecticut Huskies women's ice hockey team will represent the University of Connecticut in the 2011–12 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Huskies will attempt to qualify for the NCAA Frozen Four for the first time in school history.

Jaclyn Hawkins is a Canadian former ice hockey player for the Connecticut Huskies women's ice hockey program and the Boston Blades of the CWHL. Hawkins is the founder and owner of WomensHockeyLife Ltd.
