On behalf of the Cook Islands the Cook Islands Sports and National Olympic Committee sent a team to the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, marking its sixth consecutive appearance at the Olympics since its debut in the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. The country sent four athletes to the Games across three sports and four distinct events. No athlete of the Cook Islander delegation progressed past the first rounds in their events and did not go on to win medals. Pera was the nation's flag bearer at the ceremonies.
The Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games is a pancontinental multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. It is organised by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and consists of Indoor and martial arts events with TV broadcasting potential, some of which were not contested at the Asian Games and Asian Winter Games Programs and are not Olympic sports.
The 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which is also counted as the 5th Asian Indoor Games, was held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan in 2017. It became the third city in the former Soviet countries to win the right of hosting an Olympic Council of Asia-sanctioned event, following Astana and Almaty in Kazakhstan, which jointly-hosted the 2011 Asian Winter Games. The host city was chosen in Kuwait on 19 December 2010. On 6 July 2013 the flag of the Olympic Council of Asia was officially handed over to the mayor of the city of Ashgabat.
Turkmenistan competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. This was the nation's fifth consecutive appearance at the Olympics.

He is a silver medalist at the 2017 World Weightlifting Championships in Anaheim, United States and the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships in Bogotá, Colombia. Rejepow is also a distinguished athlete of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan. He competed in the men's 81 kg at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan.
Dolera Davronova is an Uzbekistani weightlifter. She won the silver medal in the girls' +63 kg event at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the time, she won the bronze medal but Supatchanin Khamhaeng of Thailand was stripped of her gold medal after testing positive for a banned substance.
Kristel Macrohon is a Filipino weightlifter. She won the gold medal in the women's 71 kg event at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games held in Manila, Philippines.
