Coolidge Park is a park located on the North Shore of Chattanooga, Tennessee, along the Tennessee River. [1] [2] It has an interactive water fountain, rock climbing, a pavilion, picnic amenities, a military memorial, and a 100-year old restored antique carousel. [1] [2] There are also docking facilities. [3] It is also near the Walnut Street Bridge. [1] It is also close to the city’s entertainment and art districts. [1] [3] It serves as a venue for concerts, festivals, fundraisers, and special events. [1] [2] The park is also a part of the Tennessee Riverwalk, a 13-mile public waterfront greenway that follows the Tennessee River. [1] [3]

In 2006, a circular landscape of trees representing the sister cities of Chattanooga called the Peace Grove was added to the park. [1] There is also the Learning Walk, a one thousand linear foot-interpretive trail. [3]

The Coolidge Park Carousel is a Dentzel antique carousel from 1894. [2] It has 52 hard-carved animals, a calliope band organ, and gold leaf benches. [2] [4] It is available for reservations. [2]

The park was established through the work of HGOR and the River Front Development Committee. [3] The goal was to have an open space area, stabilize the riverfront area, and increase connectivity with a walkway system, as part of the Tennessee Riverwalk. [3] The park was opened in 1999. [3] [5] The park was named after Charles H. Coolidge, a Medal of Honor recipient who fought in World War II. [5]

As an even-numbered Interstate, it is signed as an east–west route, though the route follows a more southeast–northwest routing, passing through Nashville, Tennessee. The numbering deviates from the standard Interstate Highway System grid, lying further north than its number would indicate west of Nashville. The short segment within Georgia bears the unsigned designation State Route 409 (SR 409).

The Chattanooga Choo-Choo in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is a former railroad station once owned and operated by the Southern Railway. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the station operated as a hotel from 1973 to 2023, and was a member of Historic Hotels of America, part of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The two-floor hotel building, once called The MacArthur building, was renovated and renamed in 2023 to The Hotel Chalet by Trestle Studio, a Chicago-based development group.

The Chattanooga Zoo at Warner Park is a 13-acre (5.3 ha) zoological park located in Warner Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The zoo was established in 1937 by the City of Chattanooga with the construction of two 4 by 6 feet cages for rhesus monkeys. The zoo has been accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) since 1998.

The P. R. Olgiati Bridge, often called the "Ol' Johnny" or "Ol' Jolly", is a steel girder bridge across the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, Tennessee completed in 1959. It is named for former mayor and long time political boss of Chattanooga, P.R. Olgiati. Chattanooga was a growing city during the 1950s. To expand the city and to allow more ways to cross the Tennessee River, the P. R. Olgiati Bridge was one of multiple bridges built. The route carries US 27 across the Tennessee river.

Kim H. White was president and CEO of River City Company in Chattanooga, Tennessee. River City Company is a non-profit organization created in 1986 to aid in the redevelopment and revitalization of downtown Chattanooga. White has been with River City since 2009. Before that, she was president and CEO of the Corker Group and of Luken Holdings. White is a graduate of Hixson High School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Senator Corker praises White's work as head of River City.

The Hiwassee River Heritage Center is a history museum located in Charleston, Tennessee which was established in 2013. The museum chronicles the region's Cherokee and Civil War history. It is a certified interpretive center on the Trail of Tears National Historic Trail.
