Countach (For Giorgio) is the seventh studio album by Shooter Jennings, released on February 26, 2016 on vinyl through Jennings' own Black Country Rock label. [3] A 16-bit music video for the song "Cat People (Putting Out Fire)" featuring Marilyn Manson was released on August 1. [4] [5]
Countach is an album of songs composed or inspired by Italian producer Giorgio Moroder. [6] Jennings has described the album as "a love letter to [his] childhood", [1] explaining that "It all connected. Something that I had just written off as the sound of the Eighties, it was all Giorgio. He's the one that made that wave of music happen. It hit me like a freight train." [7]
The recording sessions featured guest vocals from Steve Young, [8] Brandi Carlile, [9] Marilyn Manson [10] and Shroud of the Avatar creator Richard Garriott de Cayeux, [11] as well as his father Waylon Jennings on the 1st track entitled 'Loading' which itself is a remix of his 1978 single Don't You Think This Outlaw Bit's Done Got Out of Hand
The album was originally scheduled for release in November 2014. However, its release was delayed due to the sudden death of Jon Hensley, Jennings' longtime manager and friend and Black Country Rock co-founder. [1] On February 22, 2016, the album was released digitally inside the multiplayer component of the role-playing video game Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues , with players encouraged to search through the game's multiplayer levels to win one of twenty-five free vinyl copies of the album. [12] The album was released on CD, digital download, 8-track tape and vinyl record formats on March 11. [13]

Marilyn Manson is an American rock band formed by namesake lead singer Marilyn Manson and guitarist Daisy Berkowitz in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 1989. Originally named Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids, they gained a local cult following in South Florida in the early 1990s with their theatrical live performances. In 1993, they were the first act signed to Trent Reznor's Nothing Records label. Until 1996, the name of each member was created by combining the first name of a female sex symbol and the last name of a serial killer—for example, Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson. Their lineup has changed between many of their album releases; the eponymous lead singer is the only remaining original member.

"Cat People (Putting Out Fire)" is a song recorded by the English singer-songwriter David Bowie as the title track of the 1982 erotic horror film Cat People. Bowie became involved with the track after director Paul Schrader reached out to him about collaborating. The song was recorded at Mountain Studios in Montreux, Switzerland in July 1981. Bowie wrote the lyrics, which reflected the film, while the Italian producer Giorgio Moroder composed the music, which is built around only two chord changes.

The album earned Tucker the Grammy Award for Best Country Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards in addition to winning Best Country Song for "Bring My Flowers Now" which was also nominated for Best Country Solo Performance, and the all-genre Grammy Award for Song of the Year. Rolling Stone placed the album at number one on the publication's list of the 40 Best Country and Americana Albums of 2019 and number 24 on their list of the top 50 Albums of 2019. Tucker promoted the album throughout 2019 with the While I'm Livin' Tour and continued to support the album in the first quarter of 2020 on the Bring My Flowers Now Tour, a partnership with CMT's Next Women of Country.
