Prince Hyodeok was a Goryeo Royal family member as the first son of Wang Uk and a grandson of Wang Geon, its founder. [1] He was the oldest brother of King Seongjong, Queen Heonae, and Queen Heonjeong. [2] Since their parents had died when he was young, he was raised by his paternal grandmother, Queen Sinjeong alongside his siblings. [3] Therefore, it was speculated that he lived in Hwangju where Queen Sinjeong came from.[ citation needed ] Also, since King Gyeongjong's throne was succeeded by his younger brother and not him, so it might be that he died at a young age before the time of throne's ascension. Although his death date was unclear, it considered that he died during the latter half of Gwangjong's reign.

Queen Daemok of the Hwangju Hwangbo clan, also known as Queen Taemok, was a Goryeo princess as the only daughter of King Taejo and Queen Sinjeong, also the younger sister of King Daejong who became a queen consort through her marriage with her half older brother, King Gwangjong. She was also the mother of most his children and the first Goryeo queen to use her maternal surname, Hwangbo.

Anjong of Goryeo, personal name Wang Uk, was a Goryeo Royal Prince as the only child of King Taejo and Queen Sinseong. He later became the father of King Hyeonjong.

Queen Seonui of the Chŏngju Yu clan or formally called Grand Queen Mother Seonui, was a Goryeo princess, second daughter of King Taejo and Queen Jeongdeok. She married her half brother, Daejong of Goryeo, giving birth to three sons, and two daughters, Queen Heonae and Queen Heonjeong.

Prince Gyeongjang was a Goryeo Royal Family member as the third son of Wang Uk and a grandson of Wang Geon, its founder. He was the full brother of King Seongjong, Queen Heonae, and Queen Heonjeong. Since their parents had died when he was young, he was raised by his paternal grandmother, Queen Sinjeong alongside his other siblings. Although his wife was not recorded, he had a daughter who would become the fifth wife of King Hyeonjong.

Queen Sinjeong of the Hwangju Hwangbo clan was the fourth wife of Taejo of Goryeo who became the mother of Daejong of Goryeo and Queen Daemok. All of the Goryeo kings after Gyeongjong were her descendants.

Daejong of Goryeo was a Goryeo Royal Prince as the only son of King Taejo and Queen Sinjeong, elder brother of Queen Daemok and father of King Seongjong. Through his children, he became the grandfather of Queen Wonyong and maternal grandfather to both Mokjong and Hyeonjong.

The Hwangju Hwangbo clan is one of the Korean clans. Their Bon-gwan is in Hwangju, North Hwanghae Province. Hwangbo clan is originally was Huangfu and brought by Hwangbo Gyeong (황보경) from Tang dynasty to Silla dynasty. Their founder was Hwangbo Je-gong (황보제공) who was a nobleman in the Paegangjin, Hugoguryeo that become the father in-law of Kingdom of Goryeo's founder, Taejo of Goryeo as his daughter was Taejo's 4th Queen Consort, Queen Sinjeong. He served Taejo as one of his Three Major Grand Masters. Then he officially began the Hwangju Hwangbo clan.
