Daejong of Goryeo (died 969; [4] born Wang Uk) was a Goryeo Royal Prince as the only son of King Taejo and Queen Sinjeong,[ citation needed ] elder brother of Queen Daemok and father of King Seongjong. [5] Through his children, he became the grandfather of Queen Wonyong and maternal grandfather to both Mokjong and Hyeonjong. [6] [7]

He married his half younger sister and had 3 sons and 3 daughters.[ citation needed ] However, both of them died in 969[ citation needed ] and their young children were raised by his mother. [8] After Gyeongjong's death, Uk's second son, Wang Chi, ascended the throne as Seongjong and then gave posthumous name and temple name to his late parent. He and his wife were buried in Taereung Tomb (태릉;泰陵).[ citation needed ]

She later became the fourth wife of her first cousin, King Gyeongjong. After his death, she had an affair with her half uncle, giving birth to King Hyeonjong.

Queen Uihwa of the Jincheon Im clan was a Goryeo queen consort as the first and primary wife of King Hyejong. Their only son must lost his life for political reasons during King Gwangjong's reign without able to ascended the throne and their eldest daughter instead became Gwangjong's 2nd wife also for political alliance.

Queen Hyosa of the Ansan Kim clan was a Goryeo princess as the daughter of King Hyeonjong and Queen Wonhye, also the full younger sister of King Munjong and King Jeonggan who became the third wife of her half brother, King Deokjong. Lady Cheonchujeon of the Gaeseong Wang clan, personal name Wang Aji, was a Goryeo Royal Princess as the third child and oldest daughter of King Gwangjong and Queen Daemok who married her first cousin, Prince Cheonchu.

Queen Daemok of the Hwangju Hwangbo clan, also known as Queen Taemok, was a Goryeo princess as the only daughter of King Taejo and Queen Sinjeong, also the younger sister of King Daejong who became a queen consort through her marriage with her half older brother, King Gwangjong. She was also the mother of most his children and the first Goryeo queen to use her maternal surname, Hwangbo.

Hwangbo Che-gong of the Hwangju Hwangbo clan was a nobleman in the Early Kingdom of Goryeo periods. He was the father of Queen Sinjeong and become the fourth father in-law of Taejo of Goryeo also the maternal grandfather of Daejong of Goryeo and Queen Daemok. He served as Grand Commandant, a senior first rank official. He also held the position as Three Major Grand Masters and become the founder of Hwangju Hwangbo clan.

Anjong of Goryeo, personal name Wang Uk, was a Goryeo Royal Prince as the only child of King Taejo and Queen Sinseong. He later became the father of King Hyeonjong.

Queen Seonui of the Chŏngju Yu clan or formally called Grand Queen Mother Seonui, was a Goryeo princess, second daughter of King Taejo and Queen Jeongdeok. She married her half brother, Daejong of Goryeo, giving birth to three sons, and two daughters, Queen Heonae and Queen Heonjeong.

Queen Jeongdeok of the Chŏngju Yu clan was the sixth wife of Taejo of Goryeo who came from the same clan as his first wife and bore him seven children. Through her two elder daughters' marriages, she established ties with the powerful Chungju Yu and Hwangju Hwangbo clan, becoming the maternal grandmother of Queen Heonui, King Seongjong, Queen Heonae, and Queen Heonjeong.

Queen Sinseong or formally called as Queen Dowager Sinseong was a Silla royal family member as the first cousin of King Gyeongsun who became the fifth wife of Taejo of Goryeo and the mother of Anjong of Goryeo, also the grandmother of Hyeonjong of Goryeo which she later posthumously honoured as queen in 1010 under his command.

Prince Gyeongjang was a Goryeo Royal Family member as the third son of Wang Uk and a grandson of Wang Geon, its founder. He was the full brother of King Seongjong, Queen Heonae, and Queen Heonjeong. Since their parents had died when he was young, he was raised by his paternal grandmother, Queen Sinjeong alongside his other siblings. Although his wife was not recorded, he had a daughter who would become the fifth wife of King Hyeonjong.

Queen Sinjeong of the Hwangju Hwangbo clan was the fourth wife of Taejo of Goryeo who became the mother of Daejong of Goryeo and Queen Daemok. All of the Goryeo kings after Gyeongjong were her descendants.

The Hwangju Hwangbo clan is one of the Korean clans. Their Bon-gwan is in Hwangju, North Hwanghae Province. Hwangbo clan is originally was Huangfu and brought by Hwangbo Gyeong (황보경) from Tang dynasty to Silla dynasty. Their founder was Hwangbo Je-gong (황보제공) who was a nobleman in the Paegangjin, Hugoguryeo that become the father in-law of Kingdom of Goryeo's founder, Taejo of Goryeo as his daughter was Taejo's 4th Queen Consort, Queen Sinjeong. He served Taejo as one of his Three Major Grand Masters. Then he officially began the Hwangju Hwangbo clan.
