Culprits is a British heist television series created by J Blakeson. The series premiered on Star via Disney+ on 8 November 2023 in several countries around the world as a Star Original.
After a high-stakes heist, a crew of elite criminals go their separate ways and try to leave their old lives behind, but the past and present collide when a ruthless assassin starts targeting them one by one.

In April 2021, Disney+ had commissioned a series of multiple British produced television series, including Culprits, which was set to be written and directed by J Blakeson. [2] In August, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett was cast in the lead role. [3]
Production on the series began in February 2022, with additions to the cast including Gemma Arterton, Eddie Izzard and Kirby Howell-Baptiste. [4]
Composer Marc Canham wrote the score for the series. [5]
Filming of the series took place in both Europe and Ontario, with Canadian locations including Hamilton and Cambridge. [6]
UK filming took place in a house on Hickin Street, Isle of Dogs, London, designed by Vandana Goyal from Studio 9 Architects, London. Further filming took place in Manchester, on Dale Street and Paton Street, and in a park off of Paradise Street in Rotherhithe, London, during March 2022.[ citation needed ]
On 23 March 2022, the production company (Character 7) cordoned off Little Lever Street and Bradley's Court in Northern Quarter, Manchester, with the assistance of Greater Manchester Police. The scene being filmed featured a S.W.A.T team shooting at a fleeing car.[ citation needed ] Character 7 had placed notices around the surrounding areas some weeks earlier notifying residents that there would be loud gun fire and a screeching car. On the day of filming, a production fire engine sprayed the roads so that it would appear that it had been raining during the scene.[ citation needed ]

Shazad Latif is a British actor, who starred as Tariq Masood in the BBC TV series Spooks, Clem H. Fandango on Toast of London, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in Penny Dreadful. In 2017, he was cast as Chief of Security Ash Tyler in the CBS All Access television series Star Trek: Discovery. He also portrays Captain Nemo in the live-action series Nautilus from 2024.
Nathan Lloyd Stewart-Jarrett is a British actor. He starred as Curtis Donovan in the E4 series Misfits (2009–2012) and Ian in the Channel 4 series Utopia (2013–2014). He is also known for his theatre work, earning a WhatsOnStage Award nomination for his performance in Angels in America. His films include The Comedian (2012), War Book (2014), Mope (2019), Candyman (2021), and Femme (2023), the latter of which won him a British Independent Film Award.
Jessica Swale is a British playwright, theatre director and screenwriter. Her first play, Blue Stockings, premiered at Shakespeare's Globe in 2013. It is widely performed by UK amateur companies and is also studied on the Drama GCSE syllabus.
