This article lists spokespersons of Democratic Action Party (DAP) of Malaysia in the 13th Parliament issued on 19 May 2015 [1] . All DAP MPs elected in the 13th Parliament were in list except Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng and Tan Seng Giaw. [2]

Lim Kit Siang Malaysian politician

Lim Kit Siang is a Malaysian politician and party leader. He is a prominent leader of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of the current ruling Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition in Malaysia. He had previously served as the Opposition Leader of Malaysia for 1 year (1973-1974), another 24 years (1975-1999) before assuming the role again for a four-year stint from 2004-2008.

Lim Guan Eng Finance Minister of Malaysia

Lim Guan Eng is a Malaysian politician from the Democratic Action Party (DAP) currently serving as the Minister of Finance of Malaysia, three-term Member of Parliament (MP) and three-term assemblyman (MLA) representing Bagan and Air Putih respectively. Being the Secretary-General of DAP since 2004, he also served as the Chief Minister of Penang between 2008 and 2018.

Tan Seng Giaw is a veteran Malaysian from the Democratic Action Party (DAP).

Pakatan Rakyat dissolved political coalition in Malaysia

The Pakatan Rakyat or PR was an informal Malaysian political coalition and successor to Barisan Alternatif (BA). The political coalition was formed by the People's Justice Party (PKR), Democratic Action Party (DAP), and Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) on 1 April 2008, after the 12th Malaysian general election, having previously formed the Barisan Alternatif in the 10th general election. On 20 April 2010, the Sarawak National Party (SNAP) officially joined as a member of the Pakatan Rakyat after being expelled from Barisan Nasional, but quit the coalition on 6 May 2011. The DAP declared the coalition "dead" on 16 June 2015, citing the inability of the rest of the alliance to work with PAS, after PAS's congress passed the motion to sever ties with DAP without debate. It was succeeded by Pakatan Harapan and Gagasan Sejahtera.

Sim Tong Him is a Malaysian politician. He is the former Member of Parliament for Kota Melaka, Malacca for two terms from 2008 to 2018. Presently Sim is an independent politician after his resignation from Democratic Action Party (DAP) in 2017.

The 12th Malaysian Parliament is the last meeting of the legislative branch of the government of Malaysia, the Parliament, comprising the directly elected lower house, the Dewan Rakyat, and the appointed upper house, the Dewan Negara. It met for the first time at the Malaysian Houses of Parliament on 28 April 2008 and met for the last time on 29 November 2012. The King then dissolved the Parliament on 3 April 2013. The dissolution was announced by the Prime Minister Najib Razak after it consented by the King.

Lim Lip Eng is a Malaysian politician and is the Member of the Parliament of Malaysia for the Kepong constituency in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. He is a member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP) party in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition.

Zairil Khir Johari Member of the Penang State Executive Council

Zairil Khir Johari is a Malaysian politician and a member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP). He is the Penang State Executive Councillor for Public Works, Utilities and Flood Mitigation. He was elected as the State Assemblyman for Tanjong Bunga, Penang in the 2018 Penang State Election. Prior to that, he was the Member of Parliament for Bukit Bendera, Penang from 2013 to 2018, during which he was also the DAP Parliamentary Spokesperson for Education, Science and Technology. He is the son of Khir Johari, a former Cabinet minister. In December 2018, Zairil married lawyer and political activist Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud.

This is a list of the members of the Dewan Rakyat of the 13th Parliament of Malaysia. The opposition coalition Pakatan Rakyat that contested the general elections in 2013 was dissolved after series of disagreements between two main parties, Democratic Action Party (DAP) and Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS). A new opposition coalition Pakatan Harapan was formed by the Democratic Action Party, People's Justice Party (PKR) and newly formed party National Trust Party (PAN), consisting of ex-PAS members. Several ex-UMNO members have also formed their own party Malaysian United Indigenous Party (PPBM) and have signed an electoral pact with Pakatan Harapan to contest the future general election and ensure straight fights against Barisan Nasional. On 20 March 2017 PPBM officially became a member of Pakatan Harapan.

Shadow Cabinet of Malaysia

A Shadow Cabinet is a common feature in mature parliamentary democracies. It exists because, in theory, a government can easily collapse by losing the confidence of Parliament. So, if any new government is to be installed immediately without having fresh polls, it is only responsible of and reasonable for any party intending to replace the existing government to prepare its lineup.

Pakatan Harapan Malaysian political coalition

The Alliance of Hope is a political coalition in Malaysia. It is a successor to Pakatan Rakyat. It was established in 2015 as an opposition to the former-ruling Barisan Nasional coalition that ruled the country since independence. It is the largest bloc in the Dewan Rakyat and is the current ruling party of Malaysia. The coalition is allied with the Sabah Heritage Party (WARISAN) and the United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (UPKO) in the state of Sabah. At the state level, the coalition is the largest party in 8 of 13 state legislative assemblies and forms the government in the states of Kedah, Penang, Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Malacca, Johor and Sabah. Pakatan Harapan also form a government with two-thirds majority in the states of Penang, Selangor and Johor.

2018 Penang state election 14th state election of Penang, held on 9 May 2018

The 14th Penang election was held on 9 May 2018 to elect the State Assemblymen of the 14th Penang State Legislative Assembly, the legislature of the Malaysian state of Penang. The legislature had been dissolved on 9 April by the state's Governor, Abdul Rahman Abbas, on the advice of the then Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, who also led the state's ruling Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition.

2008 Penang state election 12th state election of Penang, held on 8 March 2008

The 12th Penang election was held on 8 March 2008. Polling took place in 40 constituencies throughout the State of Penang, with each electing a State Assemblyman to the Penang State Legislative Assembly. The election was conducted by the Malaysian Election Commission.

Shadow Cabinet of Ahmad Zahid Hamidi

Shadow Cabinet of Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was established on 26 September 2018. The purpose of this Shadow Cabinet is to play check and balance roles on the Pakatan Harapan coalition which formed the government on 10 May 2018.
