Amunugama Gedara Ranaweera Mudiyanselage Daminda Kumara Ranaweera,or commonly Daminda Ranaweera (born 29 February 1980) is a former Sri Lankan cricketer. [1] He made his FC debut on 15 November 1999 for the Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club,against Colombo. [2]
Ranaweera was born on 29 February 1980 in Kandy,Sri Lanka. [3] Ranaweera was raised into a Buddhist Sri Lankan family,and started playing cricket at an early age. [4] He then started attending Vidyartha College at the age of 15 during the 1995/96 school year. [4] [5] Upon attending Vidyartha,Ranaweera played for his college's cricket team from 1997 to 1999. [6] [7]
Following Ranaweera's performances with Vidyartha in the 1998-99 Elephant Lemonade Cup,Ranaweera was selected to play for the Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club during the 1999-2000 Premier Trophy season. [8] Ranaweera made his FC debut on 13 November 1999,against Colombo,wherein the match was drawn. [2] He would go on to amass a total of 138 runs in 4 matches,with a high score of 71 during the trophy. [9] Ranaweera was also selected by Kurunegala for the 1999-2000 Premier Limited Overs Tournament,where he made his LA debut on 26 February 2000,against the Nondescripts Cricket Club. [10] He would go on to score 63 runs in 5 matches,with a high score of 50. [11]

He first made his impression in the 2004 U19 World Cup in which he captained the Sri Lankan team. He enjoyed a prolific school career for Wesley College,with a highest score of 243 and best bowling figures of 8 for 20. An all-rounder,he made his Test debut in 2004.
Kaushalya Weeraratne also known as Kaushal Weeraratne is a former Sri Lankan international cricketer. After starting his international career as a bowler,he later moved up the order to become an all-rounder,batting in the middle order and bowling medium-fast. He is regarded as one of the players to have been included in the lost generation of Sri Lanka cricket according to Lasith Malinga,an elite list which include players who have performed consistently in domestic circuit for over ten years but had to toil hard to play in international cricket due to the presence of frontline players. Weeraratne once took 4 wickets in 5 balls in an Eastern Cricket Association Veterans game,which he described as his greatest ever bowling performance,given the quality of the opposition.
Cricket was introduced to Sri Lanka in the first quarter of the 19th century,following colonisation of the island by the British. The earliest known match was recorded in 1832 and the earliest first-class one in 1926. The national team has played Test cricket from 1982. The national team has achieved international success by winning the 1996 Cricket World Cup and the 2014 ICC World Twenty20. The Major League Tournament is the main domestic first-class cricket competition in Sri Lanka. It was established in 1938 and has existed under a number of different names. Matches before the 1988–89 season are not considered first-class. Relaunched as the Lakspray Trophy in 1988–89,it was renamed as the P. Saravanamuttu Trophy in 1990–91 and as the Premier Championship in 1998–99. There was a change of format in 2015–16 when it became the Premier League Tournament which was split into Tiers A and B the following year.

The 2017–18 Premier Limited Overs Tournament was a List A cricket competition that took place in Sri Lanka. It was the seventeenth edition of the Premier Limited Overs Tournament,and the first since the 2015–16 edition,after the 2016–17 tournament was cancelled following a legal challenge and replaced by the 2016–17 Districts One Day Tournament. The tournament started on 9 March 2018 and finished on 25 March 2018. Rain affected the first few days of fixtures,with several games ending as a no result.

The 2004 SLC Twenty20 Tournament is the 1st season of the official Twenty20 domestic cricket competition in Sri Lanka. 15 teams in total,five representing four provinces of Sri Lanka and a Sri Lanka Schools XI team participating in the competition. The competition began on 17 August 2004,when Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club played the Police Sports Club at Colts Cricket Club Ground,Colombo.
Kamil Mishara is a Sri Lankan cricketer. He made his international debut for the Sri Lanka cricket team in February 2022. During the year 2019,dynamic and talented Kamil Mishara named and awarded as School boy cricketer of the year. He became the fourth Royal College student to win this title. Sri Lanka youth cap and Royal College left-handed opening batsman Kamil made the highest individual score of the school cricket season 2019 when he thumped a career best 250 off 270 balls against Ananda College in their Singer Trophy Under 19 match played during the year 2019.

The 2020–21 Major Clubs Limited Over Tournament was a List A cricket competition that took place in Sri Lanka. It ran from 24 March to 11 April 2021,with twenty-six teams taking part. Chilaw Marians Cricket Club were the defending champions,winning the 2019–20 Invitation Limited Over Tournament.
