Dana Lynn Kuehn (born January 1,1971) is an American attorney and judge from Tulsa,Oklahoma who has served on the Supreme Court of Oklahoma since 2021;she was appointed by Governor Kevin Stitt on July 26,2021. [1] Kuehn had previously been a Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals Judge after her appointment by the Governor of Oklahoma Mary Fallin on October 2,2017. [2] Kuehn is the first woman to serve on both of the state's high courts,the Oklahoma Supreme Court and the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals. [3]
Kuehn is a graduate of Jenks High School,Class of 1989. She attended Oklahoma State University (OSU),where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 1993. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1996. [4]
From 1996 to 1999 Kuehn worked for the Tulsa County district attorney's office. [4] After leaving the district attorney's office,she became an associate with the Steidley &Neal law firm from 1999 to 2000. [2] Kuehn returned to the Tulsa County District Attorney's office for 2002 through 2006. [4]
In 2001,Kuehn became an adjunct professor at the University of Tulsa College of Law,and still continues this activity.[ citation needed ] She taught Juvenile Law and Evidence Workshop at the University of Tulsa College of Law. She also has served as president of the Alumni Board. [5]
In 2006,she was elected to serve as Associate District Judge for Tulsa County,she provided over both criminal and civil dockets. [4] From 2010 to 2012 she served as the Chief of the Civil Division at Tulsa County. [2] In 2013,while serving as Associate District Judge for Tulsa County,one of her cases from Tulsa County rose to the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals. The appellate court modified the sentence given to defendant,Victor Cornell Miller from a death penalty sentence to a life without parole sentence. As a result,Miller was not executed. [6]
On October 2,2017,she was appointed as Judge of the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals by Governor Mary Fallin to fill the unexpired Judicial District No. 1 term of Judge Clancy Smith. She was then later Vice-Presiding Judge of the Court and Presiding Judge of the Court. [2]
On July 26,2021,Kuehn was appointed to the Oklahoma Supreme Court by Governor Kevin Stitt to fill the vacancy left by Tom Colbert's retirement. [1]
Dana Kuehn is married to Patrick Kuehn and together they have four children. [2]

Mary Fallin is an American politician who served as the 27th governor of Oklahoma from 2011 to 2019. A member of the Republican Party,she was elected in 2010 and reelected in 2014. She is the first and so far only woman to be elected governor of Oklahoma. She was the first woman to represent Oklahoma in Congress since Alice Mary Robertson in 1921.

Daniel J. Boudreau,a native of Massachusetts and a graduate of the University of Tulsa College of Law,is an Oklahoma attorney who was a justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court from 1999 to 2004. After retiring from the Supreme Court,he is now in private practice as a specialist in Alternative Dispute Resolution,which he has also taught at the University of Tulsa College of Law.
Robert D. Simms was a justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court from 1972 to 1999. He served as chief justice in 1985 to 1986.
Richard Eugene Glossip is an American prisoner currently on death row at Oklahoma State Penitentiary after being convicted of commissioning the 1997 murder of Barry Van Treese. The man who murdered Van Treese,Justin Sneed,had a "meth habit" and agreed to plead guilty in exchange for testifying against Glossip. Sneed received a life sentence without parole. Glossip's case has attracted international attention due to the unusual nature of his conviction,namely that there was little or no corroborating evidence,with the first case against him described as "extremely weak" by the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals.
Alma Bell Wilson was an Oklahoma attorney who was appointed as the second female district judge in the state of Oklahoma in 1975. In 1982,she was elevated as the first woman to serve on the Oklahoma Supreme Court and between 1995 and 1997 was the first woman chief justice. Wilson was honored by many awards in her lifetime including induction into the Oklahoma Women's Hall of Fame,the Oklahoma Hall of Fame and was named Appellate Judge of the Year in both 1986 and 1989.

Brian Jack Goree is a Justice on the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals. Born in 1964 in Killeen,Texas and raised in Tulsa,he graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in chemistry,then earned a J.D. degree at the University of Tulsa College of Law. P. Thomas (Tom) Thornbrugh is a judge on the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals. He was born in Garnett,Kansas. He graduated in 1968 from Emporia State University with a B. A. in speech,then enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was trained at Fort Benning,Georgia,then went to Vietnam,where he served with the 1st ARVN Division,and the 1st Signal Brigade at Khe Sanh during the 1971 Laotion invasion. He was honored with the Bronze Star and the Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster for his actions at Khe Sanh. He received an honorable discharge in 1971,and returned to the United States.
Richard Darby is an American lawyer and the former chief justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court. On April 5,2018,Governor Mary Fallin appointed Darby to the Oklahoma Supreme Court to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Joseph M. Watt.
John Kevin Stitt is an American businessman and politician serving as the 28th governor of Oklahoma since 2019. A member of the Republican Party,he was elected in 2018,defeating Democrat and former state Attorney General Drew Edmondson with 54.3% of the vote. Stitt was reelected to a second term in 2022,defeating Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister,a Republican turned Democrat,with 55.4% of the vote. A member of the Cherokee Nation,Stitt is the second governor of Native descent after former Oklahoma governor Johnston Murray.
Carlene Clancy Smith is a retired judge from Oklahoma. Her last position was as a justice of the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals (OCCA). She was appointed on September 13,2010 by Oklahoma Supreme Court Chief Justice James E. Edmondson to replace the recently-retired Justice Charles Chapel. She retired on June 17,2017. She served as the presiding judge of the court for a two-year term starting on January 1,2015.
