David Sinclair is an American politician who has served as a member of the Maine House of Representatives since November 9,2023. He represents Maine's 50th House district. Outside of politics,he is a lawyer.
Sinclair served two terms as a member of the Bath city council from 2008 to 2014. [1] In 2014,he ran for District Attorney of Maine's sixth Prosecutorial District,but lost to Geoffrey Rushlau. [2] On November 7,2023,Sinclair was elected to the Maine House of Representatives in a special election following the resignation of Sean Paulhus. He assumed office November 9,2023. [3]
Sinclair graduated from Brandeis University and the University of Maine School of Law. [4]

The Maine House of Representatives is the lower house of the Maine Legislature. The House consists of 151 voting members and three nonvoting members. The voting members represent an equal number of districts across the state and are elected via plurality voting. The nonvoting members represent three of Maine's Native American tribes,though two tribes have declined to send representatives. Each voting member of the House represents around 9,000 citizens of the state. Because it is a part-time position,members of the Maine House of Representatives usually have outside employment as well. Members are limited to four consecutive terms of two years each,but may run again after two years.
John Eder is an American activist and politician from Maine. Eder,a Democrat,lives in Biddeford. He is a former member of the Maine Green Independent Party,the Maine affiliate of the national Green Party. He served in the Maine House of Representatives as the legislature's first member of the Green Party for two terms and was elected in 2002 and re-elected in 2004. Until his defeat in 2006 Eder was one of only a handful of independent or third party state legislators in the country and was the highest-ranking elected Green official in the United States. Eder ran for Mayor of Portland,Maine in 2011. In 2014,Eder won a race for an at-large seat on the Portland Board of Education.
