ComteJean Bruno Wladimir François-de-Paule Lefèvre d'Ormesson was a French writer and novelist. He authored forty books, was the director of Le Figaro from 1974 to 1977, as well as the dean of the Académie Française, to which he was elected in 1973, until his death, in addition to his service as president of the International Council for Philosophy and Humanistic Studies within UNESCO (1992–1997).

Lelouch gained critical acclaim for his 1966 romantic melodrama film A Man and A Woman. At the 39th Academy Awards in 1967, A Man and a Woman won Best Original Screenplay and Best Foreign Language Film. Lelouch was also nominated for Best Director. While his films have gained him international recognition since the 1960s, Lelouch's methods and style of film are known for attracting criticism.

Yaguine Koïta and Fodé Tounkara were wheel-well stowaways who froze to death on a Sabena Airlines Airbus A330 flying from Conakry, Guinea, to Brussels, Belgium, on July 28, 1999. Their bodies were discovered on August 2 in the airplane's rear right-hand wheel bay at Brussels International Airport, after having made at least three return trips between Conakry and Brussels. The boys were carrying plastic bags with birth certificates, school report cards, family photographs and a letter. This letter, written in imperfect French, was widely published in the world media. Several associations commemorate Yaguine and Fodé annually on August 2 at Brussels Airport.

In France, the single debuted at number 16 on the chart edition of 5 October 2002, reached a peak of number 15 in the third week, then dropped and remained for a total of 14 weeks in the top 50 and fell out of the top 100 after 17 weeks. On 17 December 2002, it earned a Gold disc for selling over 250,000 units. In Belgium (Wallonia), it entered the Ultratop 50 on 16 November 2002 at number 28, then jumped to a peak of number 15 and remained for 13 weeks in the top 40. Tournée Européenne 2013 was the tenth concert tour by Canadian singer Celine Dion. The tour was organized to support the highly successful fourteenth French-language and twenty-fourth studio album Sans attendre (2012), which has sold more than 1.5 million copies worldwide. It also served as initial promotion for Dion's then recently-released English album Loved Me Back to Life (2013), since she incorporated a few songs from this album to the concert's setlist. It was Dion's first dedicated Francophone tour since the D'eux Tour in 1995–1996. With only ten concerts performed, it was also the shortest tour of Dion's career. Overall, the tour grossed an estimated $20 million from nine shows in Europe. The tour would also mark as the final concert tour for the majority of Dion's longtime touring band members consisting of musical director Claude "Mego" Lemay, guitarist André Coutu, keyboardist Yves Frulla, bassist Marc Langais, and violinist Jean-Seb Carré.
