Deadline for My Memories is the debut solo album by Billie Ray Martin, former lead singer of the band Electribe 101. [1] It was originally released in October 1995, including Martin's biggest hit single, "Your Loving Arms" and the notable follow-up, "Running Around Town".

Release history

The album was first released in Germany on CD in October 1995 and over the same period a vinyl version was released in the United Kingdom. The CD version was released in Australia also in late 1995 with the UK CD version being released January 1996. The United States and Canada CD versions were released in June 1996.

Single releases

"Your Loving Arms" was the first single released from the album, originally reaching number 38 in the UK Singles Chart in 1994, but it went on to reach number 6 when it was re-released the following year. [2] It also peaked at number 46 on the US Billboard Hot 100. [3] Four further singles were released from the album: "Running Around Town" (UK No. 29), "Imitation of Life" (No. 29), "Space Oasis" (No. 66), and "You & I (Keep Holding on)" (No. 76). [2]

She was also one of the vocalists on the S'Express UK top 10 hit single "Hey Music Lover" (1989), and had UK top 40 hits as lead vocalist of Electribe 101 with "Tell Me When the Fever Ended" (1989) and "Talking with Myself" (1990), and as a solo singer with "Running Around Town" (1995) and "Imitation of Life" (1996).

It was released by Magnet and Sire in October 1994 as the first single from the singer's debut solo album, Deadline for My Memories (1995). Written by Martin and David Harrow, it received critical acclaim and is known to be one of her most notable singles. It was produced by English electronic dance group the Grid and was originally released on October 31. The track found greater chart success in 1995, when it peaked at number one in Italy and on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart, and number six on the UK Singles Chart. There were made two different music videos for the song. Written by Martin and produced by Brian Transeau, the song was the follow-up to her successful debut single, "Your Loving Arms". It reached moderate success on the charts in Europe, peaking at number ten in Italy, number 19 in Finland and number 29 in the UK. It also peaked at number three on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and number 22 on the Billboard Dance Sales chart. A music video was also produced to promote the single.
