Career

Debora Jille started playing badminton when she was almost seven years old. Just like her brothers Stefan and Ruben they first started playing tennis before picking up the sport of their mother, badminton in Houten and in Amersfoort. She won the women's doubles title twice at the Dutch National Badminton Championships in 2022 and 2023 together with partner Cheryl Seinen; and also won the mixed doubles title in 2022 with Ties van der Lecq. In the Dutch Eredivisie league, she is playing for BC Duinwijck. In the German Bundesliga league, she played for TV Refrath, while in Denmark in the Elite league her club is Vendsyssel Badminton Club.

She won a silver medal at the 2016 European Badminton Championships and a bronze medal at the 2014 European Badminton Championships with Piek. In 2016, she and Piek competed at the Rio Summer Olympics and reached the quarter-finals round. Gabriela Stoeva is a Bulgarian badminton player specializing in doubles. Her current partner is her younger sister, Stefani Stoeva. The pair is the three-time European Champion and two-time European Games gold medalist as well. They competed at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics.

Soraya de Visch Eijbergen is a Dutch badminton player. She won the Dutch National Badminton Championships in 2015, 2016, 2019 and 2020. On 25 September 2018, she announced her departure from the Dutch national team and emigration to Switzerland in pursuit of further badminton ambitions. Currently she plays inter-club competition in France for Badminton Club Chambly Oise. She competed at the 2019 Minsk European Games.

Alida Chen is a Dutch badminton player. She won the 2009 Netherlands national championships U13 in girls' singles, doubles and mixed doubles, 2011 U15 in girls' singles, doubles and mixed doubles, 2012 U17 in girls' singles, doubles and mixed doubles, and 2013 U17 in mixed doubles. She became a quarter finalist at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in mixed doubles event.

Lisa Khoeblal-Malaihollo is a former Dutch female badminton player, who was specialized in doubles play at the end of her career. Her father is from Indonesian origin, while her mother is of mixed Dutch-Surinamese origin. From 2006 till her retirement in 2017 she won numerous Satellite and Master events in the Netherlands both in singles and in doubles play. Alex Christiaan Vlaar is a Dutch-Bulgarian badminton player. He was born in Lelystad, the Netherlands. His father Chris Vlaar is a Dutch rally car driver and badminton coach, his mother is former badminton player Emilia Dimitrova who is also a coach. She played for Bulgaria at the 1992 Olympics women's doubles.

Ruben Jille is a Dutch badminton player, specializing in doubles play. The righthanded Jille, started playing badminton at a small local club in Houten, the place where he grew up. He chose to join the national team in 2014. In 2016, he was semi-finalist at the Dutch Open partnered with Jacco Arends in the men's doubles event. In 2017, this partnership won its first international title at the Spanish International. His sister Debora Jille is also a member of the Dutch National badminton squad.

Ties van der Lecq is a Dutch badminton player. He won the men's doubles title at the 2020 Dutch National Championships, and was part of Dutch team that won a silver medal at the 2020 European Men's Team Championships and also a bronze medal at the 2019 European Mixed Team Championships.

The 2022 European Badminton Championships was the 29th tournament of the European Badminton Championships. It was held in Madrid, Spain, from 25 to 30 April 2022.

The women's doubles badminton tournament at the 2023 European Games was played from 26 June to 1 July 2023 in Arena Jaskółka, Tarnów. A total of 32 players in 16 pairs competed at the tournament, four of which pairs was seeded.
