December 10, often shortened to D10,[ citation needed ] are an English boy band formed in London in 2025. The group rose to fame on Simon Cowell's The Next Act Netflix series. The group later signed to EMI Records. [1]
In June 2024, Cowell announced auditions for his next boyband. The launch of the campaign was marked by the unveiling of a military recruitment–style billboard in London, featuring the slogan: "Simon needs you! Future megastars wanted for new boyband. No time wasters". [2] The auditions were open exclusively to applicants from the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States, targeting teenagers aged between 16 and 18. [3] [4]
Commenting on the project, Cowell stated that “Every generation deserves a megastar boyband, and I don’t think there has been one with the success of One Direction in over 14 years”. He also noted that the music industry has increasingly focused on solo artists, adding that it often takes an external figure to assemble a successful group. Cowell emphasized the appeal of group dynamics, highlighting the enjoyment of touring internationally and performing for large audiences. [3]
On 10 December 2025, a six-episode documentary series titled Simon Cowell: The Next Act was released on Netflix, documenting the audition process and the formation of the band. [5] Cowell had initially planned to select only seven of the contestants for the band, but ended up keeping all the seven finalists, saying "seven people just popped". [6] Five days later, the group released their first track on YouTube, a cover of NSYNC's track Bye Bye Bye. [7]
