The multiplayer is free to play with optional micro-transactions, and developers have opted against pay-to-win elements, with a separate game currency for cosmetics. [6] Aside from Havoc Warfare, a mode where teams are allocated tickets to win a game, [7] it will also feature an extraction mode known as Hazard Operations. [2] Player progression is largely shared across different platforms with some limitations. [8] [9]
Inspired by the film Black Hawk Down (2001) by Ridley Scott and Delta Force: Black Hawk Down , the paid component of the game will feature a single-player and cooperative experience as United States forces participating in the 1993 Somali conflict, with rights to Scott's footage and will be closely based on the film. Tech demos of the campaign featured levels rendered in Unreal Engine 5, including the locations of the raid which led to the Battle of Mogadishu. [10]
Delta Force launched for PC in open beta on the 5th of December, 2024. [8] For iOS and Android Delta Force will launch on 20th of January, 2025.[ citation needed ]

The popularity of the genre saw a decline in the late 2000s as fast-paced "arcade"-like action shooters rose to prominence, it has seen a revitalization since the mid-2010s with the successful releases of several modern tactical shooters.
