Dennison is a ghost town in Franklin County, Kansas, United States.
Dennison was issued a post office in 1865 but was discontinued in 1868. [1] In 1898 the town of Woodleif was founded in the same area and was issued a post office the same year but was discontinued in 1901. After 1901, the town of Tauy was founded, but never had a post office and faded out in the 1920s. All that is left in the area today is the Tauy Baptist Church.[ citation needed ]
Franklin County is a county located in the eastern portion of the U.S. state of Kansas. Its county seat and most populous city is Ottawa. As of the 2020 census, the county population was 25,996. The county was named for Benjamin Franklin, a founding father of the United States. Formerly it was considered part of the Kansas City metropolitan area, but was removed in 2013.
