Denton High School is a public high school located in the city of Denton, Texas and classified as a 5A school by the UIL. It is a part of the Denton Independent School District located in central Denton County and was the original high school for Denton.
Denton High School was established in 1884. In 1910 it moved to what is now Calhoun Middle School. In 1957 it moved again to Fulton Street. In the 1990s, DHS yielded grades 10–12 to the newly opened Ryan High School until 1995. In 2022, it was moved northwest to its current location on Bronco Way. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency. [4]
After voters approved a May 2018 Capital Improvement Plan, Denton ISD purchased land to rebuild Denton High School at a new location and expand the school's campus from 35 acres to 150 acres. The site is near the University of North Texas Discovery Park, less than 1.5 miles from the Denton High location at 1007 Fulton Street. [5]
Its boundary includes sections of Denton. [6] [7] Previously the boundary included Paloma Creek South and sections of Paloma Creek and Savannah, and small sections of Cross Roads, Little Elm, and Prosper. [8] [9]
The schools teams are called the Denton Broncos. [10]

Krum High School is a public high school located in the city of Krum, Texas, USA and classified as a 4A school by the UIL. It is a part of the Krum Independent School District located in west central Denton County. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.
Hebron High School (HHS) is one of five public high schools in the Lewisville Independent School District and is located in Carrollton, Texas. The school opened in 1999 and was the fourth high school to do so in its district. It services communities from far west Plano, southwest Frisco, small portions of far east The Colony, far north Carrollton, and far southeast Lewisville. Hebron serves grades ten through twelve; ninth graders attend the adjacent Hebron High School 9th Grade Campus. In 2015, the school was rated “Met Standard” by the Texas Education Agency. Hebron is currently classified as a 6A school by the University Interscholastic League.
Westlake High School is a public high school in unincorporated territory of Travis County, Texas, west of and adjacent to Austin. The school is a part of the Eanes Independent School District. Westlake High School is the only high school in the Eanes ISD and serves West Lake Hills, Rollingwood, parts of Southwest Austin, as well as parts of unincorporated Travis County. The school was established in 1969 and opened in 1970.

Birdville High School (BHS) is a public high school located in the city of North Richland Hills, Texas and is the second newest school in the Birdville Independent School District. Established in 1999, it was the third high school built into the Birdville Independent School District. Birdville High School is home to the Birdville Hawks and hosts grades 9-12. For the 2009-2010 school year, according to the TEA, Birdville High School's population consisted of 6.3% Black/African American, 20.6% Hispanic/Latino(a), 68.3% White/Caucasian, 0.6% Native American, and 4.2% Asian/Pacific Islander.
Billy Ryan High School is a public high school located in east Denton, Texas. It is the second high school of the Denton Independent School District and classified as a 5A school by the UIL. The original building for the school was built in 1991 and was followed with expansions in 1994, 2006, 2008/2009, and 2022 that added more space for the pre-existing technology and fine arts programs.
