Liberty Christian School is a private, college preparatory, Christian school located in Argyle, Texas. Liberty offers Christ-centered education from Preschool (age 3) through Grade 12, and provides state championship programs in academics, fine arts, and athletics. [2]

Liberty Christian is part of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS). Liberty's mascot is the Warrior. In 2021 the school made headlines when it announced the hiring of former Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten as its head football coach. [3] Two years later it would hire another notable athlete, three-time Olympic gold medalist Jeremy Wariner, as its track and field coach. [4]

Established in 1983, Liberty moved to its current location in Argyle in 2005. It was formerly located in Denton, Texas.

He currently is the head football coach at Liberty Christian School in Argyle, Texas. He played college football for the University of Tennessee, and was drafted by the Cowboys in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft. Witten ranks second in all-time career receptions and receiving yards by an NFL tight end, trailing only Tony Gonzalez. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest tight ends of all time.

James Edward Willis III is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) and a former coach in the NCAA and in the NFL. The Liberty Flames football program represents Liberty University, a private Christian university located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in college football. The Flames compete in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) as a member of Conference USA. The program, which previously competed in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), announced it would start a transition to the top level of NCAA football in July 2017. The Flames became a provisional FBS member in 2018, and became a full FBS member with bowl eligibility in 2019. In 2020, Liberty entered the rankings in the AP Poll at 25 for the first time in program history.

The John Carroll Blue Streaks football program is the intercollegiate American football team for John Carroll University located in the U.S. state of Ohio. They compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division III level and are members of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). The team was established in 1920 and plays its home games at the 5,416 seat Don Shula Stadium. As of the 2016 season, John Carroll has won 11 Conference titles, 4 in their current conference, the OAC. Drew Nystrom serves as the interim head football coach. During the 2022 season, John Carroll will celebrate its 100th season of football.

The Central Oklahoma Bronchos football team represents the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) in college football. The team is a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA), which is in Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Bronchos football program began in 1902 and has since compiled over 600 wins, two national championships, and 27 conference championships. As of 2022, the Bronchos are ranked fifth in NCAA Division II for wins. In 1962, the Bronchos went 11–0 on the season and defeated Lenoir–Rhyne University (NC) 28–13 in the Camellia Bowl to claim its first NAIA national championship. Twenty years later, Central Oklahoma defended its home turf and defeated Colorado Mesa University 14–11 in the NAIA national championship game to take its second title and finish the season with a 10–2 record. Despite its rich history in football, Central Oklahoma has struggled beginning in the late 2000s. The program has not participated in the NCAA Division II playoffs since 2003. The Bronchos play their home games at Chad Richison Stadium, a 12,000-seat football stadium built in 1965, and remodeled in 2022. The Bronchos have enjoyed nine undefeated home seasons and are 5–1 in playoff games at Wantland Stadium.

Kellen Louis Mond is an American football quarterback who is a free agent. He played college football at Texas A&M, where he was a four-year starter and became one of three SEC quarterbacks to record over 9,000 career passing yards with 1,500 rushing yards. Mond was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Nicholas Starkel is an American football quarterback who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Texas A&M University, the University of Arkansas, and San Jose State University.

Jason Bachtel is an American college football coach. He is the head football coach for Houston Christian University; a position he has held since 2024. He was the head football coach for Scurry-Rosser High School from 2011 to 2016 and Howard Payne University from 2021 to 2022. He also coached for Galena Park High School, Gatesville High School, North Forney High School, East Texas Baptist, and Argyle High School. He played college football for Howard Payne as a quarterback.
