A mosque, also called a masjid, is a place of worship for Muslims. The term usually refers to a covered building, but can be any place where Islamic prayers are performed, such as an outdoor courtyard.
Manchester Central Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre is a mosque in Manchester, England. Sometimes referred to as Jamia Mosque, it is situated in the middle of Victoria Park, Manchester close to the Curry Mile. It plays a key role in Manchester's Muslim community. Imam and Khateeb Hafiz Mueen ud Din Akhtar and Qari Hafiz Javed Akhtar are leaders of the mosque, but left in 2018. Qari Javed also leads taraweeh prayers in Ramadan.
A congregational mosque or Friday mosque, or sometimes great mosque or grand mosque, is a mosque for hosting the Friday noon prayers known as jumu'ah. It can also host the Eid prayers in situations when there is no musalla or eidgah available nearby to host the prayers. In early Islamic history, the number of congregational mosques in one city was strictly limited. As cities and populations grew over time, it became more common for many mosques to host Friday prayers in the same area.

Masjid-e-Bilal is one of the largest mosques of Bangalore, Karnataka, India. It was inaugurated in mid-2015. The Turkish-style 'Masjid Eidgah Bilal' on Bannerghatta road was consecrated on 11 June. The mosque sits on the corner of a traffic intersection on a popular thoroughfare of southern part of the city. Prestige Group developers undertook the construction which began in 2010 and was completed recently. At that time Janab Alhaj Habeeb Khan Saheb was president of this committee from 2004 to 2015. The mosque constructed at a cost of Rs. 200,000,000 provides space for 6,500 people to pray at a time. A considerable portion of the cost was contributed by the Prestige Group.
IANT Quranic Academy (IQA) is an Islamic private school in Richardson, Texas serving grades pre Kindergarten-12. It is a part of the Islamic Association of North Texas. The school was founded in 2002 with a Full Quran memorization, Hifz, Alim Studies, and Academic program in response to the needs of thousands of American Muslims residing in the city and neighboring cities such as Dallas, Garland, Plano etc. It is one of the veteran Islamic schools in North Texas with 20 years of experience. 148 students graduated from IQA and 146 students became huffadh, and hundreds earned pre-alim diplomas.
There is a notable population of American Muslims in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. Dallas-Fort Worth is home to sixty-two Sunni mosques and five Shia mosques. According to Abdel Rahman Murphy, a Chicago-born, Irving-based Islamic teacher and Muslim community leader, other U.S.-based Muslims now refer to Dallas as the "Medina of America". Not only is Dallas Masjid Al Islam the oldest Muslim community in the DFW area, it established the first mosque in the city of Dallas and established the first Muslim school in the DFW area. As of 2021, many major Muslim organizations and charities have headquarters or operations in DFW, mostly located in Richardson, Texas such as: ICNA Dallas, Muslim American Society, Muslim Legal Fund of America, Helping Hands for Relief & Development, Sabrina Memorial Foundation, Islamic Relief USA, CAIR-Texas, and MA’RUF. There are also several institutions of research and higher education such as: Qalam Institute (Carrollton), ISRA Foundation (Plano), Bayyina Academy (Euless), and The Islamic Seminary of America (Richardson). -
Masjid Al-Jamia is a Sunni mosque in West Philadelphia. It was founded in 1988 by members of the Muslim Students Association at the University of Pennsylvania . Eight years later, the mosque became independent from the Penn MSA and, around 2009, acquired ownership of the building. Located at 4228 Walnut Street, in a historic building formerly occupied by the Commodore Theatre, the mosque currently serves a large and diverse Muslim population in the neighborhood. The mosque's name itself signals its importance to the community, as the Arabic etymology suggests. In Arabic, Masjid Al-Jamia means “the congregational mosque”, typically where Muslims meet for Friday prayers.
