It is an arts magnet school, meaning that it draws in students from all across the Ottawa area and beyond by being host to their specialized arts program. It is located at 900 Canterbury Ave and is the birthplace of an enormous amount of young Canadian talent. It serves over 1300 students, more than most other schools in the area.

However, maps usually show Guildwood Estates as the western section of this area, while the eastern half is the neighbourhood of Urbandale Acres. It is a multiple day festival that consists of music, art, food and fashion events that take place along Wellington Avenue. The main hub is The Somerset Square Park with the other locations being the local galleries and cafés. The festival's mandate is to showcase the works of local artists, musicians and businesses.
