Dijon Duenas, (born June 9, 1992) better known as Dijon, is an American musician and producer from Baltimore, Maryland. [3]

Early life

Dijon Duenas was born in Germany on June 9, 1992, to a family in the American military stationed abroad. He is the son of a Guamanian father and a mother of mixed black and white heritage. [4] His parents met in the military and during his childhood he moved several times back and forth between the United States and Germany. He never stayed in the same town for more than a couple years. [4] In the U.S., he's lived in California, Hawaii, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland and Washington. [5] He attended Centennial High School in Ellicott City, Maryland and graduated from high school while living in Germany.

Music career

Dijon's music career began as one half of the duo, Abhi//Dijon, which he formed with a high school friend, Abhirath Raju, while he was studying literature [5] at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. [3] Between 2012 and 2016, the duo released two EPs and one compilation. The duo released their last EP, Montana, in 2016. [4] Dijon moved from Ellicott City, Maryland to Los Angeles in the summer of 2016. [4] The next year, Duenas collaborated with the band Brockhampton, providing additional vocals in the song "Summer" on their 2017 album Saturation II . Duenas released his first solo EP in 2019 titled Sci Fi 1 [6] In April 2020, Dijon collaborated with musician Charli XCX on the first song from her album How I'm Feeling Now titled "Pink Diamond", which he co-wrote and co-produced. Dijon released his second EP, How Do You Feel About Getting Married? in May 2020. [7] [8] Duenas said he was influenced by Little Feat, Burial, and Lucinda Williams. [8] In December 2020, Duenas released a song titled "The Stranger", featuring John C. Reilly, Tobias Jesso Jr., and Becky and the Birds. [9]

Duenas' debut album Absolutely was released on November 5, 2021. [10] He collaborated with fellow musician Mk.gee who co-wrote and co-produced several songs on the album. Following his debut album release, Dijon also subsequently released a short film on December 22, directed by Jack Karaszewski. Dijon made his television debut on The Tonight Show on January 27, 2022, performing the song "Big Mike's". [11] On June 26, 2022, Dijon's song "Many Times" was featured on former U.S. president Barack Obama's 2022 summer playlist. [12]

He is credited as one of the songwriters on Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign's 2024 album Vultures 1 on the track "Stars". [13]

Tours

Dijon opened for Bon Iver during the band's Spring 2022 tour, performing at the Mesa Amphitheatre (Mesa, Arizona) and the Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Greenway (Austin, Texas). [14]

In June 2023, Dijon toured with boygenius, Clairo, and Bartees Strange for the Re:SET Concert Series across several U.S. cities. [15]

Josiah Wise, known professionally as serpentwithfeet, is an R&B musician based in Brooklyn, New York City. Wise released the EP Blisters in 2016, his debut studio album soil in 2018, his second EP Apparition in 2020, and his second studio album Deacon in 2021. His third studio album, Grip, was released in 2024.

"New Body" is an unreleased song by American hip hop superduo ¥$, composed of Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign. Originally recorded in 2018, it first contained a guest appearance by rapper and singer Nicki Minaj. Lyrically, the song debunks body shaming and the stigma surrounding plastic surgery; portions of West's lyrics are unintelligible. It was originally slated for inclusion on West's album Yandhi in late 2018, which was never released. It was then reworked with Christian-themed lyrics for West's ninth studio album Jesus Is King (2019); this version omitted Minaj in favor of Ty Dolla Sign, and was later previewed at listening parties and subsequently leaked. The song was also excluded from Jesus Is King due to creative differences with West and Minaj. In June 2020, the latter expressed interest in releasing the song after it became viral on TikTok.

Matthew Dean Burdette, known professionally as Blxst, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer from Los Angeles, California. He signed with Red Bull Records to release his debut extended play (EP), No Love Lost (2020). It spawned the single "Chosen", which peaked at number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 and received platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His 2022 single, "Die Hard" peaked at number five on the chart and remains his highest-charting song. Two Star & the Dream Police is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Michael Gordon, known professionally as Mk.gee. Released on February 9, 2024, through R&R, the album was supported by five singles: "Candy", "How Many Miles", "Are You Looking Up", "You Got It", and "Dream Police".

"Stars" is a song by the American hip hop superduo ¥$, composed of rapper Kanye West and singer Ty Dolla Sign, released as the opening track on their debut studio album, Vultures 1 (2024). The song features uncredited vocals from Camper. It was produced by the duo alongside Aver Ray, Camper, FnZ, JPEGMafia, Shdøw, the Legendary Traxster, and Timbaland. Apart from Shdøw and Timbaland, the producers served as co-writers with Lucien Parker and Quentin Miller. A dark gospel track, it features a sample of "Good Luck" by Dijon. Lyrically, the song sees West and Ty Dolla Sign boasting of their accomplishments.
