Velamakucha Venkata Ramana Reddy (born 18 December 1970), known professionally as Dil Raju, is an Indian film producer and distributor, who is known for his work in Telugu cinema. He has also financed some Tamil and Hindi films and owns the production company Sri Venkateswara Creations. Raju has won two National Film Awards and was honoured with the Nagi Reddy–Chakrapani National Award in 2013 for his contributions to popular cinema. [3] [4]

Dil Raju was appointed as Chairman for Telangana Film Development Corporation on 3 December 2024 by Telangana Government.

Early life and career

Dil Raju was born in Narsingpalli in Nizamabad district of present-day Telangana. He was educated in Mudakpally and Nizamabad, and was interested in films from a young age. He later moved to Hyderabad and did automobile business with his brothers. He ventured into film distribution in the 1990s with the film Pelli Pandiri (1997) [5] and started Sri Venkateswara Film Distributors in 1998. [6]

Personal life

Raju married Anita and has a daughter, Hanshitha Reddy. Anita died on 11 March 2017 due to cardiac arrest. Raju later married Tejaswini in 2020. [7] [8] Tejaswini's name was changed to Vygha Reddy following her marriage as per astrology. [9] They have a son born in 2022. [10]

Varsham (transl. Rain) is a 2004 Indian Telugu-language romantic action film directed by Sobhan and produced by M.S. Raju under Sumanth Art Productions banner. The film stars Prabhas and Trisha in the lead roles, while Gopichand,Prakash Raj, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao and Chandra Mohan appear in pivotial supporting roles. The music was composed by Devi Sri Prasad, while the cinematography and editing were handled by S. Gopal Reddy and K. V. Krishna Reddy.

Meka Srikanth is an Indian actor who is known for works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He has appeared in more than 120 films. The actor has received one state Nandi Award, and one Filmfare Award South. He has starred in films like Swarabhishekam, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu for 2004. Srikanth's another film Virodhi premiered at the Indian panorama section, at the 2011 International Film Festival of India. Sri Rama Rajyam also had a special screening at International Film Festival of India on 28 November 2011. He has also appeared in some other language films including Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil films.

Bommarillu is a 2006 Indian Telugu-language romantic comedy family drama film directed and co-written by Bhaskar in his directorial debut, and produced by Dil Raju. The film stars Siddharth, Genelia, Prakash Raj and Jayasudha. The film primarily revolves around the relationship between a father and son, in which the father's excessive concern for his son, and interference in his life, leads to the latter harbouring bitterness towards his overbearing father. The cinematography was handled by Vijay C Chakravarthy and editing done by Marthand K. Venkatesh. The music for the film was composed by Devi Sri Prasad, whose soundtrack of the film received positive reviews from critics.

Konidela Ram Charan is an Indian actor and producer who works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He made his acting debut with Chirutha (2007), a box office hit, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut – South. He rose to prominence starring in S. S. Rajamouli's fantasy action film Magadheera (2009), the highest-grossing Telugu film of all time at the time, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu.
