Dimlim (stylized in all caps) was a Japanese visual kei rock band established in 2017, currently on the label DUM LABEL with the members Sho, Retsu and Hiroshi.
The band was formed in April 2017 by Ryuya, former member of Deviloof, Issei, former member of D.I.D, Sho, Retsu and Tsubasa. They released their debut EP, Various , on June 3, 2017, exclusively at their oneman first show in Ikebukuro Black Hole. [5] For official sale, the EP was released on August 23, 2017, accompanied by the release of the video clip for Shoucho (初潮) on their official YouTube channel. [6] Later, on November 9, Issei and Tsubasa left the band. [7] According to Retsu, the band's name comes from "DIM", somber, and "LIM", gear. [8]
At the band's first anniversary concert, on June 3, 2018, they released a double single: Watashi... (私...) and Boku... (僕...) (Both words mean "I/me" in Japanese [9] ) and announced the release of a complete new album, Chedoara , which was released on August 8, 2018. [10] On December 16, they performed at the Metal Square vol. 4 festival in Shibuya, with other bands like Jiluka, Nocturnal Bloodlust and Deviloof. [11]
In 2019 they released the single "Rijin" on June 5, with their video clip in a hospital. [12] In an interview with the Japanese magazine Toppa, Sho said that he suffers from dissociative disorder (not to be confused with dissociative personality disorder or multiple personality disorder) and the single talks about his experience with the condition. [13]
On August 17, guitarist Ryuya and bassist Taishi decided to leave the band after a performance at Tsutaya O-West. Taishi left due to illness and Ryuya left due to artistic differences. [14] Despite the announcement, the band moved on with only three members and announced a new album, Misc. , previously scheduled to December 2019. [15] The music video for "What's up?" officially came on their official YouTube channel on January 25, 2020, and shows that the band's musical style changed to a less heavy direction. Misc. was postponed and finally released on January 28, 2020. [2]
On May 1, 2020, they opened their official brand of merchandise, "Dimer Tokyo". [16]
DIMLIM announced four performances outside Japan in 2020. Initially only in Mexico, they expanded to shows in Brazil, Chile, and Russia. [17] The performance in Mexico was canceled due to low demand but was reconfirmed. [18] However, all shows were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [19]
In December 2021, the band announced their disbandment, with a last show scheduled for February 25, 2022, at Shibuya WOMB. [20]
In an interview with Gekirock, vocalist Sho said that one of his biggest influences is the band Dir En Grey and the vocalist Kyo. In the same interview, guitarist Retsu mentions he is a big fan of visual kei band The Gazette and also mentions he likes the bands Bring Me the Horizon, Erra and Periphery. [3]

Lynch is a Japanese visual kei metal band formed in 2004. The band's concept is "uniting heavy music with beautiful melodies." As of 2023, the group has released three EPs, twelve albums, and 25 singles.
Coldrain are a Japanese rock band from Nagoya, Japan, who were formed in 2007. The band combines melodic singing with screams typical of the post-hardcore genre. Although the band is Japanese, all of their songs are written in English. Since its formation in 2007, the band retained the same lineup with no member changes. The lineup consists of lead vocalist Masato Hayakawa, guitarists Ryo Yokochi (Y.K.C.) and Kazuya Sugiyama (Sugi), bassist Ryo Shimizu (RxYxO) and drummer Katsuma Minatani. Hayakawa has a Japanese father and an American mother and speaks both Japanese and English fluently.
Golden Bomber is a Japanese visual kei "air" rock band formed in 2004 and signed to the independent label Euclid Agency. Despite not actually performing the instruments themselves during concerts, they have gained popularity through their theatrical "live shows".
My First Story (マイ・ファースト・ストーリー、マイファス、MFS) is a Japanese rock band from Shibuya, Tokyo. Formed in 2011, the band currently consists of vocalist Hiroki Moriuchi, guitarist Teruki Nishizawa, bassist Nobuaki Katō, and drummer Shōhei Sasaki. Their debut album My First Story (2012) caught people's attention and put them in lineups of major music festivals. Their fourth studio album Antithese (2016) ranked 4th on Oricon chart, and directed their first Nippon Budokan live show, gathering 12,000.
Pentagon (ペンタゴン) is a Japanese visual kei rock band formed in 2014. Members Chizuru and Minpha started the limited time band 'Call Me ...' as a two-member unit, with Taku on guitar and Atsuki on drums. After 13 December 2014, Atsuki and Taku became official members and Yutori was added to the band.

Band-Maid is a Japanese rock band formed in 2013, consisting of singer Saiki Atsumi, guitarist/singer Miku Kobato, lead guitarist Kanami Tōno, bassist Misa, and drummer Akane Hirose. The band combines a rock sound with a maid image modeled on Japanese maid cafés. They are currently signed to Pony Canyon. Their most recent studio recording, the EP Unleash, was released in September 2022.
Mejibray was a Japanese visual kei rock band which came together on June 18, 2011, founded by their vocalist, Tsuzuku, and signed on to White Side Group. Their musical style is heavy metal and hard rock, while also taking elements from genres such as djent or nu metal. The band currently consists of the members MiA (guitar), and Meto (drums). Previously, Ippu had been the guitarist of Mejibray, but left in October 2011. It was revealed on December 31, 2017, by MEJIBRAY's management that bassist Koichi and vocalist Tsuzuku had terminated their contracts with the company, leaving the future of the band uncertain.
MISC. is the third studio and second full length album by the Japanese visual kei band DIMLIM, released on January 28, 2020 by DUM LABEL. The album was planned to be released in December 2019 but has been postponed to January 28.
Chedoara is the second studio and first full length album by the Japanese band Dimlim, released on August 8, 2018. The promotional video for "Vanitas" was released on June 2, 2018 and the promotional video for "Aizou ni Tsuki" on August 1, 2018. Due to great demand and its two-month sell-out, the album was relaunched on December 23, 2018.
Various is the debut EP by the Japanese visual kei band Dimlim, from the label Ultimate Illuminati. It was originally released on June 3, 2017, exclusively at the band's debut show in Ikebukuro Black Hole. For sale, it was released in two editions, regular and limited, on August 23, 2017.
Kizu (キズ) is a Japanese visual kei rock band, formed in 2017 by Lime on vocals, Reiki on guitar, Yue on bass, and Kyonosuke as a drummer. They have released nine singles and two live albums.
"Classic" is the 35th single by the Japanese rock band Mucc, released on September 19, 2016, in three editions by Sony Japan. It is the opening theme of the anime series The Seven Deadly Sins: Signs of Holy War. The title track was composed by bassist Yukke and the single was produced by Ken, guitarist of L'Arc-en-Ciel.
Jiluka is a Japanese visual kei metal band initially formed in May 2013 but restarted in February 2015. The group are an independent band on the label DPR Japan, consisting of members Ricko, Sena, the main songwriter of the songs, Boogie and Zyean. They have released 7 albums and 6 singles so far. It was ranked at the 12 position on the JRock News's top 15 visual kei and Japanese rock artists of 2019. Jiluka is described as "Modern metal visual kei".
Dezert is a Japanese visual kei rock band formed in 2011. Their current line-up features Chiaki on vocals, Sacchan on bass, Miyako on guitar and Sora on drums and they have released 7 studio albums to date.
"Daydreaming/Choose Me" is the third single by Japanese rock band Band-Maid, released in Japan on July 19, 2017, by Crown Stones. Band-Maid made a cameo appearance in the 2021 Netflix film Kate, playing "Choose Me". "Choose Me" was used in the third episode Better Goff Dead of the 2022 TV series Peacemaker.
Hazuki (葉月) is a Japanese singer, songwriter and musician, known for being the vocalist and main songwriter of visual kei band Lynch.
Kiryū (己龍) is a Japanese visual kei metal band founded in 2007 with the concept of "Japanese terror" and "painful nostalgia". Formed by vocalist Mahiro Kurosaki, guitarists Takemasa Kujō and Mitsuki Sakai, bassist Hiyori Isshiki and drummer Junji Tokai, each member is represented by a color. They have been part of the independent label B.P Records since 2009.
Acme are a Japanese visual kei metalcore band formed in 2017 with the concept of "delinquent boys from another world." The band consists of four members: CHISA (vocals), SHOGO (guitar), RIKITO (bass), and HAL (drums). Known for their post-hardcore musical style and colorful visuals, ACME has gained attention for their high-energy live performances. ACME have toured in the United States and Canada, and were the only visual kei band to complete a U.S. tour in 2021. JRock News ranked ACME as the second best visual kei artist of 2022. Currently ACME are self-managed and operate as an independent band, not signed to a label.
Deviloof is a Japanese visual kei deathcore band formed in 2015.
