Distractions is the thirteenth studio album by English alternative rock band Tindersticks. It was released on 19 February 2021 by City Slang. [6]
Distractions was met with "generally favorable" reviews from critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, this release received an average score of 78 based on 4 reviews. [2] AnyDecentMusic? gave the release a 7.5 out of 10 based on a critical consensus of 7 reviews. [1]
In a review for AllMusic, Mark Deming wrote: "While a string quartet appears on two tracks, much of Distractions was crafted from simple guitar and keyboard figures, drum machines, and loops, with a vocal sample of Staples providing the framework of the opening track, "Man Alone (Can't Stop the Fadin')." The gentle strength of Staples' deep, whispery vocals takes up even more space than usual on these sessions, and on many tracks, it has little more than elemental guitar and keyboard lines to accompany it." Tindersticks are an English alternative rock band formed in Nottingham in 1991. They released six albums before singer Stuart A. Staples embarked on a solo career. The band reunited briefly in 2006 and more permanently the following year. The band recorded several film soundtracks, and have a long-standing collaboration with French director Claire Denis.
The Hungry Saw is the seventh studio album by British alternative band Tindersticks, released on 28 April 2008 by Beggars Banquet Records. Following the release of the band's sixth album, Waiting for the Moon in 2003, Tindersticks had entered an extended hiatus before reconvening to perform at the Don't Look Back event in September 2006. This concert marked the final performance of the original line-up of the band, and three members left the group shortly afterwards. The remaining members of Tindersticks felt reinvigorated by the performance, and relocated to France to begin working on new material in the summer of 2007, recording and producing the album at their own Le Chien Chanceaux studio in Limousin. The Hungry Saw was the first new Tindersticks material in five years.
Falling Down a Mountain is the eighth studio album by English rock band Tindersticks, released in 2010 on 4AD/Constellation Records. The album peaked at number two in Greece, and achieved modest chart placings in other European countries.

Negative Capability is the twentieth studio album by British singer Marianne Faithfull. It was released on 2 November 2018, and produced by Rob Ellis, Warren Ellis and Head. Described as her "most honest album", songs on Negative Capability deal with themes of love, death, as well as terrorism and loneliness. She revisits three old recordings: "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" from Rich Kid Blues, recorded in 1971 under the title Masques, which is her 'lost' album and was not released until 1985; "Witches Song", from 1979's comeback album Broken English; and "As Tears Go By", which started her career as a 17-year-old. Faithfull recorded it for the second time aged 40 on 1987's Strange Weather. The rest of the songs are, with one exception, all new and co-written by Faithfull with help from some of her long time collaborators like Nick Cave and Ed Harcourt. The "Loneliest Person" is a cover of a Pretty Things composition from their 1968 album S.F. Sorrow.
