Michele Placido is an Italian actor, director and screenwriter. He began his career on stage, and first gained mainstream attention through a series of roles in films directed by the likes of Mario Monicelli and Marco Bellocchio, winning the Berlinale's Silver Bear for Best Actor for his performance in the 1979 film Ernesto. He is known internationally for portraying police inspector Corrado Cattani on the crime drama television series La piovra (1984–2001). Placido's directorial debut, Pummarò, was screened Un Certain Regard at the 1990 Cannes Film Festival. Three of his films have competed for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. He is a five-time Nastro d'Argento and four-time David di Donatello winner. In 2021, Placido was appointed President of the Teatro Comunale in Ferrara.

In 2010 he received the "Forte dei Marmi Political Satire Award". He has been described as a genius of satirical comedy, "the most interesting satirical author and actor today", and "among the comedians best loved by the Italian public".

Chepe Fortuna is a Colombian traditional comedy telenovela, produced by RCN Televisión in 2010 and 2011. It stars Javier Jattin and Taliana Vargas, with Kristina Lilley, Pedro Palacio, Susana Rojas, Luigi Aycardi, the first actor Gerardo Calero and first actress Margalida Castro, in addition to the first actors Judy Henríquez, Carlos Muñoz and Consuelo Luzardo. The production proposal was based on the setting of a comic story in the Caribbean Region of Colombia, so 90% of the cast is originally from the Colombian coast, including the protagonists.

Doctor Antonio is a novel by the Italian writer Giovanni Ruffini which was first published in 1855. Ruffini was an Italian patriot who wished to secure British support for Italian Unification and wrote the work specifically to win over the British market to the cause. It was first published in English in Edinburgh in 1855, and helped drive a boom in British tourism on the Ligurian coast and in the town of Bordighera in particular.
