Dominika Kopcik (born 27 October 1988) [1] is a Canadian synchronized swimmer. She began synchronized swimming at the age of 10. At 14, she became a national champion, earning her a spot to compete in the 2003 Canada Games, where she won in three categories. By the next spring season, Kopcik had won the national championships again and made her first Canadian National team. Kopcik then competed at the 2004 FINA World Junior Swimming Championships.

At the age of 15, Kopcik became Canada’s youngest ever member of the National Olympic Team. [2] She secured her place by becoming flyer of the team alongside her duet partner. Over the next 4 years, Kopcik competed at the 2005 FINA World Championships, 2006 FINA Synchronised Swimming World Cup, [3] 2007 Pan American Games, and 2008 Olympic Games. [4]

Post-competition

After retiring from competitive synchronized swimming in 2008, Dominika Kopcik and her husband Jonathan Difino, opened catering company Cafe Lunchboxx in Montreal, in May 2009. [9]

Kopcik currently works as Territory Manager for Xcite Technologies, [10] and speaks at various public events. [11]

She went on to win gold medals in the Pan-American Games in 2003, before returning to her third and final Olympics in Athens, where she won two bronze medals.

She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in the duet event with Megumu Yoshida, and in the team event.

Evangelia Platanioti is a Greek artistic swimmer. She competed in the women's duet at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She also competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the women's duet where her partner was Evangelia Papazoglou. They finished in 10th place.

In 2022, he became the first male artistic swimmer to win a gold medal at a LEN European Aquatics Championships in a men's solo event, winning the gold medal in the solo technical routine.

Lara Mechnig is a synchronized swimmer from Liechtenstein. She competed in the women's duet event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. This was also the first time Liechtenstein competed in artistic swimming at the Summer Olympics.

Deborah Muir is a Canadian former synchronized swimmer and coach. She began her career with the Calgary Aquabelles club in 1965 and won silver medals in the synchronized swimming team competitions at both the 1971 Pan American Games and the 1973 World Aquatics Championships. At age 20, Muir retired from competition and began a career in coaching. She coached swimmers of the Calgary Aquabelles to 22 national titles over a decade. She also helped athletes clinch medals in the World Aquatics Championships, the FINA Cup, the Commonwealth Games, the Pan American Games and the Summer Olympic Games. Muir has won various awards for her coaching career, and is an inductee of the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame, the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame, Canada's Sports Hall of Fame and the International Swimming Hall of Fame.

Emily Armstrong is a Canadian synchronized swimmer. Armstrong won a gold medal in the team artistic swimming category at the 2019 Pan American Games. She competed at the 2018 FINA World Junior Synchronised Swimming Championships where she placed 6th in solo free, 8th in solo technical, and 8th in duet technical. Armstrong was a training member of Canada's national team in the lead-up to the delayed 2020 Summer Olympics which were postponed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Georgia Vasilopoulou is a Greek synchronized swimmer. She won a silver medal in artistic swimming at the 2020 European Aquatics Championships as a member of the Greek team in the Combination Routine event. Vasilopoulou earned bronze medals at the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series in the Duet Free event (2018) and Team Technical event (2019) and also competed for Greece at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships.
