The Cuyahoga River is a river located in Northeast Ohio that bisects the City of Cleveland and feeds into Lake Erie.
State Route 8 is a road in the U.S. state of Ohio. SR 8 stretches from the eastern junction of Interstate 76 (I-76) and I-77 in Akron to Public Square in Cleveland. It is one of nine routes to enter downtown Cleveland at Public Square. The route's first few miles are as a limited-access freeway from I-76 and I-77,heading north. The freeway section of the highway has 16 interchanges,and is cosigned with SR 59 for a short distance from Perkins Street in Akron to Front Street in Cuyahoga Falls. The freeway portion ends at I-271 in Macedonia.

Frank George Jackson is an American lawyer and politician who served as the 57th Mayor of Cleveland,Ohio from 2006 to 2022. He was first elected on November 8,2005,unseating incumbent Jane Campbell,and re-elected in 2009,2013,and 2017. Having served four full terms,he is the longest-serving mayor in Cleveland history. On May 6,2021,he announced he would not seek re-election in 2021.

WKBF-TV was a television station that broadcast on channel 61 in Cleveland,Ohio,United States,from January 1968 to April 1975. Owned and operated by Kaiser Broadcasting as one of an eventual group of six stations,it was the first ultra high frequency (UHF) independent station to serve northeast Ohio and the last outlet constructed by the Kaiser chain during the 1960s to begin operations. Despite airing several high-profile local programs,Kaiser's efforts to establish itself in Cleveland never took root because of the establishment of a second independent outlet,WUAB,later that same year,as well as general stagnation in the Cleveland market. In April 1975,Kaiser shut WKBF-TV down and sold its programming inventory to WUAB in exchange for a minority stake in that station.

The 2016 United States Senate election in Ohio was held November 8,2016,to elect a member of the United States Senate to represent the State of Ohio,concurrently with the 2016 U.S. presidential election,as well as other elections to the United States Senate in other states and elections to the United States House of Representatives and various state and local elections. The close of registration for electors in the primary election was December 16,2015,and the primary election took place on March 15,2016. Incumbent Republican U.S. Senator Rob Portman faced former Democratic Governor Ted Strickland. Green Party nominee Joseph DeMare was also on the ballot along with two other independent candidates and one officially declared write-in candidate.

Jim Donovan has been the lead announcer since the team's return in 1999,but following the 2023 season opener,he went on medical leave to undergo treatment for leukemia,and Chris Rose is serving as interim play-by-play announcer in his absence. The 2017 Cleveland mayoral election took place on November 7,2017,to elect the Mayor of Cleveland,Ohio. The election was officially nonpartisan,with the top two candidates from the September 12 primary election advancing to the general election,regardless of party. Incumbent Democratic Mayor Frank G. Jackson won reelection to a fourth term.
On March 10,2021,Marcia Fudge resigned her seat in the United States House of Representatives after being confirmed by the United States Senate to serve as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in the Biden administration. Governor Mike DeWine set the primary date for August 3,concurrent with the special election in Ohio's 15th congressional district. The general election was on November 2. Shontel Brown won both the competitive Democratic primary and the general election,and was sworn in on November 4.
William Thomas Appling was a renowned American conductor,pianist,educator and arranger. As a conductor he led the William Appling Singers &Orchestra for almost twenty-five years and conducted other choirs and musical organizations,premiering new works by many American composers. As a pianist he played under the batons of conductors including Robert Shaw,Louis Lane,and Darius Milhaud,and he was the first African American to record the complete piano music of Scott Joplin. As an educator he taught at American schools and universities including Vassar College,Case Western Reserve University,the Cleveland Institute of Music and Western Reserve Academy. He made a number of recordings as both conductor and pianist,and his choral arrangements have been performed and recorded by such prominent ensembles as Chanticleer,Cantus and Dale Warland Singers.
The 2023 Akron mayoral election was held on November 7,2023,to elect the mayor of Akron,Ohio. Party primaries were held on May 2. Incumbent Democratic mayor Dan Horrigan chose not to seek re-election to a third term in office.
