Dorina Szekeres (born July 30, 1992 in Zalaegerszeg) is a former Hungarian swimmer, who specialized in the backstroke and IM events. [1] [2] She graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor's degree in sports marketing and management. Dorina is a founding member of the International Swimming League and held the role of general manager for Team Iron until August 2023 .
Szekeres is a three-time Hungarian national champion in the 200m backstroke event.
Szekeres was member of the varsity swimming team for the Indiana Hoosiers and represented her school at three NCAA Championships. She was named team captain of the women's team at the end of her second year. In her sophomore year she became a Big Ten champion and an All-American in the 400m individual medley. Szekeres is also a Scholar All-American, an award presented to university athletes who have achieved both academic and athletic excellence.
In 2007 Szekeres qualified for her first major international competition, the European Short Course championships. She finished 15th in the 200m backstroke.
In 2008 she placed 10th at the European Junior Championships in Belgrade. She qualified for the 2010 European Championships where she placed 15th.
She competed at the 2012 European Championship finishing 17th in the 200 backstroke.
She qualified for the women's 200 m backstroke at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, by clearing a FINA B-standard entry time of 2:14.28 from the Hungarian Long Course Nationals in Debrecen. [3] [4] Szekeres failed to advance into the semifinals, as she placed thirty-fifth overall in the preliminaries. [5] [6]
In 2013 she cleared the FINA A-standard in the 400m individual medley.
Michelle Smith de Bruin is an Irish lawyer and retired Olympic swimmer. She won three gold medals at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, for the 400 m individual medley, 400 m freestyle and 200 m individual medley, and also won the bronze medal for the 200 m butterfly event.

Elizabeth Lyon Beisel is an American competition swimmer who specializes in backstroke and individual medley events. She has won a total of nine medals in major international competition, four gold, one silver, and four bronze spanning the Olympics, World Aquatics, and the Pan Pacific championships. Beisel competed in the 200-meter backstroke and 400-meter individual medley events at the 2008 Summer Olympics, placing fifth and fourth, respectively, in the world. She won the silver medal in the 400-meter individual medley and bronze in the 200-meter backstroke at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She also finished sixth in the 400-meter individual medley at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Katinka Hosszú is a Hungarian competitive swimmer specialized in individual medley events. She is a three-time Olympic champion and a nine-time long-course world champion. She is the owner of a Budapest-based swim school and swim club called Iron Swim Budapest, and a co-owner and captain of Team Iron, founding member of the International Swimming League.

Robert "Bobby" Hurley is an Australian swimmer and former World Record holder in the short-course 50 metres Backstroke and 2012 World Champion in the same event. In 2009 he won a bronze medal as a team member on the 4 × 200 m Freestyle relay at the FINA World Championships in Rome. He has five FINA World Championship medals to his name, two gold, one silver and two bronze.

Jana Korbasová is a Slovak former swimmer, who specialized in backstroke and in individual medley events. She represented Slovakia at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and later became a sixth-place finalist in the 200 m backstroke (2:12.81) at the European Short Course Championships in Valencia, Spain on that same year. Since her retirement came in 2001, Korbasova currently serves as the acting head coach for Howick Pakuranga Swim Club in New Zealand. She has competed in several New Zealand Ironman in Taupo achieving the fastest swim time for women in the non professional division. She won the 2018 New Zealand Coach of the Year.
Praphalsai "Waen" Minpraphal is a Thai former swimmer, who specialized in butterfly, but also competed in backstroke and individual medley. She represented Thailand in all three editions of the Olympic Games since 1992, and earned numerous medals in her own specialties at the Southeast Asian Games since 1991. While residing in the United States on her college career, she helped the California Golden Bears set a new world record (1:49.23) and capture the 4×50 m medley title at the 2000 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. Minpraphal is among the Asian swimmers, along with Joscelin Yeo of Singapore and Akiko Thomson of the Philippines, to train for the Bears under women's head coach Teri McKeever.
Hali Flickinger is a retired American swimmer who specializes in freestyle, butterfly, and individual medley events. She represents the Cali Condors of the International Swimming League.
Sydney Pickrem is a Canadian competitive swimmer who competed for Texas A&M University in College Station. A three-time Olympian, she placed sixth in the 200m individual medley at the 2016 Summer Olympics and won a bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics as part of the Canadian 4×100 metre medley relay team. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, she participated in the women’s 200-meter individual medley and the 200-meter breaststroke, but finished out of medal contention. Accomplished in international competition, she is a seven-time World Aquatics Championships medallist.
Anastasia "Nastiya" Gorbenko is an Israeli competitive swimmer. She competes in the backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, and medley. She has won 8 World and European championships gold medals, competed at 2 Olympic finals, broken most of the Israeli national records for women and mixed relays, and is considered to be Israel's greatest swimmer of all time. In February 2024, Gorbenko won a silver medal at the Doha World Championships in the women's 400 meters individual medley. Gorbenko represented Israel at the 2024 Summer Olympics in swimming in the 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke, 100m breaststroke, 200m individual medley, 400m individual medley, 4x200m freestyle relay, and mixed 4x100m medley relay.
Rebecca Meder is a South African swimmer. She is the African record holder in the 100 metre individual medley and the South African record holder in the long course and short course 200 metre individual medley. At the 2022 World Short Course Championships, she placed sixth in the final of the 100 metre individual medley. In the 200 metre individual medley at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, she placed fourth in the final. At the 2021 African Championships, she won 11 gold medals, six in individual events and five in relay events, swimming on the finals relay for each of the five relay events.
Kathryn Eileen Grimes is an American competitive swimmer. At the 2022 World Aquatics Championships, she won silver medals in the 1500 meter freestyle and the 400 meter individual medley. She placed fourth in the 800 meter freestyle at the 2020 Summer Olympics, where she was the youngest member of the US Olympic Team at 15 years of age.

Lisa Nystrand is a Swedish competitive swimmer. At the 2022 European Aquatics Championships, she placed tenth in the semifinals of the 200-metre individual medley and twelfth in the 400-metre individual medley. She placed fourteenth in the semifinals of the 200-metre backstroke at the 2021 European Short Course Championships. At the 2021 European Junior Championships, she placed sixth in the final of the 200-metre individual medley, eighth in the final of the 400-metre individual medley, and tenth in the semifinals of the 200-metre breaststroke.
