The Douglas Horn Trophy - also called the Douglas JL Horn Memorial Cup [1] - was established as a perpetual rugby union trophy between Canada and Scotland in 2008.
Douglas Horn is the father of Alan Horn, a board member of Rugby Canada, while the trophy is essentially to recognise the long-standing relationship between Canada and Scotland in both the rugby world and international relations.
Scotland are the current holders winning 73 –12 in Ottawa in July 2024. [2] [1] [3]
Scotland have held the cup for the entirety of its existence.

The Calcutta Cup is the trophy awarded to the winner of the rugby match between England and Scotland played annually in the Six Nations Championship. Like the match itself (England–Scotland), the Calcutta Cup is the oldest trophy contested between any two international rugby union teams, pre-dating the Bledisloe Cup by more than half a century. It is also the oldest of several trophies awarded under the umbrella of the Six Nations Championship, which include the Millennium Trophy (England–Ireland), Centenary Quaich (Ireland–Scotland), Giuseppe Garibaldi Trophy (France–Italy), Auld Alliance Trophy (France–Scotland), the Doddie Weir Cup (Scotland–Wales) and the Cuttitta Cup (Italy–Scotland).
Gary Ivan Mercer is a New Zealand rugby league and rugby union coach and former professional rugby league footballer. A New Zealand international representative player, he has spent most of his career in Britain both playing and coaching. He is a former defence coach of Glasgow Warriors and a former coach at the SRU working in their Scottish Rugby Academy. As of March 2016, he was the head coach of Biggar RFC.

In June 2014, the Scotland rugby union team played single test matches against four countries; Argentina, Canada, South Africa and the United States.
