Formula DRIFT is a United States-based motorsport drifting series. Formula DRIFT was co-founded by Jim Liaw and Ryan Sage in 2003 as a sister company to Slipstream Global Marketing, the same partnership that introduced D1 Grand Prix to the United States. The new entity would solely own, operate and launch the first official drifting series in North America. Formula DRIFT is not associated with the FIA series of formula racing championships.
Circuit Ricardo Tormo, also known as Circuit de Valencia and officially named Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo, is a 4.005 km (2.489 mi) motorsport race track located in Cheste and built in 1999. The track is named after Spanish, two-time world champion Grand Prix motorcycle racer Ricardo Tormo (1952–1998), who died in 1998 of leukemia. It has a capacity of 165,000 and a main straight of 0.876 km (0.544 mi).

Jack Shanahan is an Irish professional drift driver from Cork. Shanahan was the 2016 and 2017 champion of the British Drift Championship and also won the Russian Drift Series in 2021.

The championship was originally called Drift Masters Grand Prix until aligning with Zigen Promotions to create an official partnership and rebranding to Drift Masters European Championship. In 2024 the championship once again rebranded, this time into Drift Masters.
