Duane David Bobick is a retired boxer from the United States. He scored notable wins over future Heavyweight Champion Mike Weaver and Contenders Chuck Wepner, Scott LeDoux, Randy Neumann and Manuel Ramos, from 1973 to 1977 he compiled an excellent record of 38-0 with 32 Knockouts which made him the Number 3 Contender in the division before he was defeated by Number 1 Contender Ken Norton. As an amateur he won the gold medal at the 1971 Pan American Games and fought at the 1972 Olympics. He then turned professional in 1973 and retired in 1979 with a record of 48 wins and four losses, all by knockout.

Randolph Duane Ross is an American collegiate track and field coach, and former athlete, specializing in the 110 meters hurdles. He is currently the Director of Track and Field programs for the University of Tennessee and is best known for winning the bronze medal at the 1999 World Championships in Athletics and representing the United States at the 2004 Athens Olympics. Ross also won the 1995 NCAA championship in the 110-meter hurdles, and as a 7-time All-American and 5 Time ACC champion is Clemson University's most decorated male hurdler.
Duane Alexander Swanson was an American basketball player who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics, winning a gold medal. He also played professionally: In eleven games during the 1939–40 National Basketball League (NBL) season, he averaged 1.2 points per game for the Sheboygan Red Skins. Duane Swanson's first name is often incorrectly attributed to be "George."

Juha Matti Ahokas is a retired amateur Finnish Greco-Roman wrestler, who competed in the men's super heavyweight category. Ahokas has won thirty Finnish championship titles, collected four medals at the European Championships, and also represented his nation Finland in four editions of the Olympic Games. Throughout his sporting career, Ahokas trained for Nurmon Jymy Wrestling Club in Seinäjoki under his father and personal coach Risto Ahokas.
The 1943 Colgate Red Raiders football team was an American football team that represented Colgate University as an independent during the 1943 college football season. In its 15th season under head coach Andrew Kerr, the team compiled a 5–3–1 record and outscored opponents by a total of 128 to 91. Michael Micka and George Thomas were the team captains.
The 1945 Holy Cross Crusaders football team represented the College of the Holy Cross in the 1945 college football season. The Crusaders were led by first-year head coach John "Ox" DaGrosa and played their home games at Fitton Field in Worcester, Massachusetts. They finished the regular season with a record of 8–1, ranked 16th in the AP Poll. Holy Cross was invited to the Orange Bowl, played on New Year's Day, where they lost to the University of Miami, 6–13. This was the first and only bowl game in Holy Cross's history.
Percy J. Price Jr. was an American amateur boxer. A United States Marine at the time, he competed in the men's heavyweight event at the 1960 Summer Olympics. He had gained his place on the U.S. team by defeating another young boxer then known as Cassius Clay. In his first Olympic bout, Price defeated Ron Taylor of Australia, but he lost to Josef Němec of Czechoslovakia in the quarter-finals.
The men's heavyweight event was part of the boxing programme at the 1972 Summer Olympics. The weight class allowed boxers of more than 81 kilograms to compete. The competition was held from 3 to 10 September 1972. 14 boxers from 14 nations competed.
