Dumas, Missouri

Dumas is an unincorporated community in Clark County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. [1] The community was located along the banks of Dumas Creek just west (upstream) of the confluence with the Des Moines River. The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad line was adjacent to the community site. Revere lies to the southwest of the location and Argyle, Iowa lies to the northeast along the rail line. [2]

Clark County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2010 census, the county's population was 7,139. Its county seat is Kahoka. The county was organized December 16, 1836 and named for William Clark, leader of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and later Governor of Missouri Territory.

History

Dumas was laid out in 1888, and named after nearby Dumas Creek. [3] A post office called Dumas was established in 1888, and remained in operation until 1917. [4]

Brushy Creek is a stream in Franklin County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of Saint Johns Creek. The stream headwaters are at 38°29′52″N91°10′23″W and the confluence with Saint Johns Creek is at 38°31′16″N91°06′55″W at an elevation of 512 feet (156 m).

Neier is an unincorporated community in Franklin County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community is located southwest of Union between routes EE and UU. It lies north of Voss Creek and west of Bourbeuse River.
