The song debuted at number one on Japan's official chart Oricon Singles Chart with 48,749 physical copies sold in the first week, [2] while on Billboard Japan, the song debuted also at number one on Japan Hot 100 and Hot Single Sales with total 114,653 on the first week. [3]

In Oricon singles year end chart, the song charted in No.93 selling 60,887. [4]

iKon (Korean: 아이콘), stylized as iKON, is a South Korean boy band formed in 2015 by YG Entertainment. The lineup consists of six members: Jay, Song, Bobby, DK, Ju-ne and Chan. Originally a seven-piece band, leader B.I departed from the group in June 2019.

Blackpink is the first Japanese extended play by South Korean girl group Blackpink. It was released digitally in Japan on August 29, 2017 by YGEX, and was released physically on August 30. The six track EP consists of Japanese versions of their previously released Korean singles. The EP debuted atop the Oricon Albums Chart in its daily and weekly charts. The group became the third foreign artist to top the chart with a debut release since 2011.

The Korean version of "Scars" was released on December 23 as a lead single of their second compilation album SKZ2021.
