History

The airline began operations in December 2013. [1] As of May 2014 the airline had regularly scheduled flights to nine airports from its hubs at Herat and Kabul airports. [2] As of September 2018, the airline suspended all operations. [3]

Kabul International Airport, also known as Kabul Airport, is located about five kilometres (3 mi) from the center of Kabul in Afghanistan. It is owned by the Government of Afghanistan and operated by UAE-based GAAC Holding on behalf of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation. It serves as one of the nation's main international airports, capable of housing over one hundred aircraft. It was locally named as Khwaja Rawash Airport. The airport was renamed in 2014 in honor of former President Hamid Karzai. The decision was made by the National Assembly of Afghanistan and the Cabinet of the then President Ashraf Ghani. It was given its current name in 2021 by the Taliban.

Kam Air is the largest private Afghan airline. Founded in 2003, Kam Air has twelve aircraft and a workforce of over 1,200 people, operating scheduled domestic passenger services throughout Afghanistan and international services to destinations in Central Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East. Its hub is at Kabul International Airport in the capital Kabul. Due to the collapse of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, all civilian services in the country were temporarily suspended on 15 August 2021. However, domestic flights restarted on 5 September 2021. International flights were also later resumed.

Blue Air is a Romanian low-cost airline headquartered in Bucharest, with its hub at Henri Coandă International Airport. It is the largest Romanian airline by scheduled passengers flown. In 2017, Blue Air carried over 5 million passengers, a 40% increase over the 3.6 million passengers flown the previous year. Pamir Airways was a privately owned airline headquartered in Kabul, Afghanistan, operating scheduled passenger flights out of Kabul International Airport. The company name is derived from the Pamir Mountains and translates "roof of the world".

Cebgo, Inc., operating as Cebgo, is the regional brand of Cebu Pacific. It is the successor company to SEAIR, Inc., which previously operated as South East Asian Airlines and Tigerair Philippines. It is now owned by JG Summit, the parent company of Cebu Pacific which operates the airline. The airline's main base has been transferred from Clark International Airport in Angeles City to Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Metro Manila. On April 30, 2017, Cebgo planned to move out from Manila and transfer its main base to Mactan–Cebu International Airport in Cebu City because NAIA has already maxed out its capacity. Currently, it operates an all-ATR fleet, with a total of 16 in service.

SkyTaxi Sp. z o.o. is a Polish charter airline headquartered in Wrocław and based at Copernicus Airport Wrocław. It operates cargo and passenger charter flights throughout Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. SkyTaxi also operated scheduled regional services within France using the brand IGavion. <span class="mw-page-title-main">1998 Ariana Afghan Airlines crash</span> 1998 passenger plane crash in Kabul, Afghanistan

On 19 March 1998, a Boeing 727 passenger jet operated by Ariana Afghan Airlines crashed on approach into Kabul, Afghanistan, killing all 45 people aboard. The flight may have been involved in smuggling and Islamic militant operations, as Ariana was at that time controlled by the Taliban-led Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan regime.

Palestinian Airlines was an airline headquartered in Gaza, State of Palestine and based at El Arish International Airport in Arish, Egypt. Fully owned by the Palestinian Authority, it commenced operations in 1995 and offered flights in the Middle East. In 2020, the company was put into liquidation after years of limited operations.

Afghan Jet International Airlines was a regional airline based in Afghanistan; it was headquartered in Kabul and based at Hamid Karzai International Airport. It offered service to five airports. On June 15, 2016, Afghan Jet ceased operations.

Air Leisure was an Egyptian charter airline headquartered in Cairo and based in Cairo International Airport. It connected several Asian cities, mainly in China, with Egyptian leisure destinations.
