Sir Charles Benedict Ainslie is a British competitive sailor. Ainslie is the most successful sailor in Olympic history. He won medals at five consecutive Olympics from 1996 onwards, including gold at the four consecutive Games held between 2000 and 2012.

He made his international debut, and represented his birth nation Brazil at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, where he finished seventh in the final of the 400 m hurdles, with his personal best time of 49.63 seconds.

Tuula Tenkanen is a Finnish sailor, who specialized in one-person dinghy class. She represented her nation Finland at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Daniela Duque Estrada Polzin is a Brazilian judoka who competed in the women's extra-lightweight category. She held a 2008 Brazilian senior title for her own division, picked up a total of seventeen medals in her career, including a silver from the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, and also represented Brazil in the 57-kg class at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Giles Lyndon Scott is a British competitive sailor and four-time Finn Gold Cup winner and two-time Olympic gold medallist who won the gold medal for Team GB in the Finn Class at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro where having dominated the class, Scott secured his place in the history books winning the gold medal with a day to spare. He is also a member of the 2021 INEOS TEAM UK America's Cup team campaign with Ben Ainslie Racing where he is tactician.
Samuel Albrecht is a Brazilian sailor who specializes in both two-person dinghy (470) and mixed multihull classes. He has been selected to compete for the Brazilian sailing team at the 2008 Summer Olympics, finishing seventeenth along with his partner Fabio Pillar in the 470 regatta. After missing out on the Olympic selection in 2012, Albrecht decided to turn his attention and eventually teamed up with Olympic bronze medalist Isabel Swan on the newly instated Nacra 17 catamaran for a chance to compete at his possible second Games in Rio de Janeiro. As of April 2015, Albrecht is ranked forty-fourth in the world for the mixed multihull class by the International Sailing Federation.
Fábio Silva Pillar, also known as Fábio Dutra Pillar e Silva, is a Brazilian sailor who competes in the two-person dinghy (470) class. He was a member of the Brazilian sailing team at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, finishing seventeenth along with his partner Samuel Albrecht in the 470 regatta. Throughout his sailing career, Pillar trains full-time at Clube dos Jangadeiros in his native Pôrto Alegre under the tutelage of head coach Paulo Ribeiro.

A Florianópolis native, Fonseca trained most of his competitive sporting career at Santa Catarina Yacht Club.
