Egil Johansen (born 18 August 1954) is a Norwegian orienteering competitor and coach. He was two times individual world champion in orienteering, and later coached the Norwegian national team.
Born on 18 August 1954, Johansen represented the clubs OK Sør and Randesund IL. [1]
He was winner of the 1976 and 1978 Individual World Orienteering Championships, [2] [3] [4] as well as getting silver medal in 1979. He was Relay World Champion in 1978 as a member of the Norwegian winning team, [4] and also have a silver medal from 1976. [3] He won the Jukola relay in 1988. [5]
He won seven individual national titles in orienteering, and two titles in relay (1975–1980). He served as coach for the Norwegian national team from 1992 to 1997, and from 2000 to 2002. [1]
He has his education from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences. [6]
Holger Hott, formerly Holger Hott Johansen, is a Norwegian orienteering competitor who has won two individual long-distance bronze medals in the World Championships in 2004 and 2005. He was part of Norway's relay team that took gold in the World Championships in Japan in 2005. He also won the overall world cup in 2004.
Jörgen Mårtensson is a Swedish orienteer. He is one of the most successful Swedish orienteers of all times.
Jørgen Rostrup is a Norwegian orienteering competitor, two times winner of the World Orienteering Championships, Short distance in 1999, and Classic distance in 2001. He also obtained bronze on the Short distance in 2001. He is two times Relay World Champion, as member of the Norwegian winning teams in 2004 in Sweden, and 2005 in Japan. He also won the Jukola relay in 1999 and 2001.
Petter Thoresen is a Norwegian orienteering competitor, winner of the 1989 Individual World Orienteering Championships, the Short distance in 1993, and the Classic distance in 1997. He also has a bronze medal on the Classic distance from 1993.
Øyvin Thon is a Norwegian orienteering competitor, and has seven gold medals at the World Orienteering Championships.
Karl Johansson, also known as Kalle Johansson, is a Swedish orienteering competitor, winner of the 1968 Individual World Orienteering Championships. He is two times Relay World Champion as a member of the Swedish winning teams in 1966 and 1968, as well as having silver medal from 1970. He won the Jukola relay in 1965.
Pasi Ikonen was a Finnish orienteering competitor, winner of the middle distance at the 2001 World Orienteering Championships. His other achievements include two individual silver medals at the world championships, and medals at the World Games and the European championships.
Janne Juhani Salmi is a Finnish orienteering competitor and world champion. He won the short distance at the 1997 World Orienteering Championships, and a gold medal in the relay at the 2001 World Orienteering Championships. He won a total of three individual world championship medals and four relay medals, and won the Jukola relay three times with the club Turun Suunnistajat.
Jan Fjærestad is a retired Norwegian orienteering competitor and athlete. His achievements in orienteering include an individual silver medal at the 1974 World Orienteering Championships and a world championship title in the relay in 1978. He won three national titles in marathon.
Håvard Tveite was a Norwegian orienteering competitor. He was Relay World Champion from 1987 and 1989, and has a silver medal from 1991 and a bronze medal from 1997. He also obtained bronze in the individual course at the 1989 World Orienteering Championships.
Kjell Lauri was a Swedish orienteering competitor. His achievements include winning a world championship gold medal in the relay with the Swedish team, and three more medals in relay.
Lars Lönnkvist is a Swedish orienteering competitor. He is Relay World Champion from 1979, as a member of the Swedish winning team, along with Rolf Pettersson, Kjell Lauri, and Bjorn Rosendahl. He also won silver medals in the 1978 and 1981 relays, and a bronze medal in 1983 and 1987. He placed fifth in the individual contest in the 1979 World Championships, and fourth in 1981. He won the Jukola relay in 1980 and 1982.
Bernt Bjørnsgaard is a Norwegian orienteering competitor and World champion.
Atle Hansen is a Norwegian orienteering competitor and world champion. He won a gold medal in the relay event at the 1985 World Orienteering Championships in Bendigo, together with Morten Berglia, Tore Sagvolden and Øyvin Thon. He finished overall second in the first unofficial World Cup in 1983. He was national junior champion in the individual event in 1980 and again in 1981, and received a silver medal in the individual event at the Nordic Orienteering Championships for juniors in Borlänge in 1980. He won the Jukola relay in 1986.
Pekka Pökälä is a Finnish ski-orienteering competitor and world champion. He won a gold medal at the first World Ski Orienteering Championships in Hyvinkää in 1975 in the relay event with the Finnish team. He received an individual silver medal in 1977. He won the Jukola relay in 1968.
Øystein Halvorsen is a Norwegian orienteering competitor who competed in the 1970s.
Markku Salminen was a Finnish orienteering competitor. He received a silver medal in the relay event and finished 13th in the individual event at the 1968 World Orienteering Championships in Linköping. In 1970 he finished 4th with the Finnish relay team. In 1974 he finished 16th in the individual event, and received a silver medal in the relay with the Finnish team. In 1976 he finished 5th in the individual event, and received a bronze in the relay. Salminen won the 1970 and 1978 Jukola relay.
Hannu Mäkirinta was a Finnish orienteering competitor. At the 1974 World Orienteering Championships in Silkeborg he finished 16th in the individual event, and received a silver medal in the relay with the Finnish team. In 1976 he finished 15th in the individual event, and received a bronze in the relay. He won the 1975 Jukola relay.
Olle Nåbo is a Swedish orienteering competitor. He received a silver medal in the relay event at the 1978 World Orienteering Championships in Kongsberg, together with Rolf Pettersson, Lars Lönnkvist and Kjell Lauri, and placed fifth in the individual event. He won the Jukola relay in 1980 and 1982.
Eskil Kinneberg is a Norwegian orienteer. In addition to winning individual gold medal at the Orienteering World Championships and individual silver medal at the European championships, he has won eight medals with Norwegian teams in the relays at the world and European championships, including several victories.
