Petter Thoresen (born 10 March 1966) [2] is a Norwegian orienteering competitor, winner of the 1989 Individual World Orienteering Championships, the Short distance in 1993, and the Classic distance in 1997. [3] He also has a bronze medal on the Classic distance from 1993.

Contents

Thoresen is two times Relay World Champion, from 1989 and 1999, as well as having a silver medal from 1991 and a bronze medal from 1997.

He represented Bækkelagets SK and Halden SK. He won the Jukola relay 5 times between 1988 and 2003, first with Bækkelaget in 1988, and then with Halden SK in 1993, 1997, 1998 and 2003. [4]

Coaching career

Thoresen was coach for the French national orienteering team from 2004 to 2008, and head coach for the Norwegian national team from 2008 to 2013. [5]

Ragnhild Bratberg is a Norwegian orienteering competitor and a cross-country skier. In orienteering, she won the overall Orienteering World Cup in 1988, and represented Norway several times in the World Orienteering Championships relays, winning medals in 1985, 1987 and 1991. In ski orienteering she won four individual gold medals at the World Ski Orienteering Championships, and once in the relay. She was awarded Egebergs Ærespris in 1988.

Jan Fjærestad is a retired Norwegian orienteering competitor and athlete. His achievements in orienteering include an individual silver medal at the 1974 World Orienteering Championships and a world championship title in the relay in 1978. He won three national titles in marathon.

Brit Volden is a Norwegian orienteering competitor. Her achievements include two individual silver medals, and one gold and one silver medal in the relay at the World Orienteering Championships. She also won the unofficial World Cup in 1983 and placed second overall in 1984 and 1988.

Eskil Kinneberg is a Norwegian orienteer. In addition to winning individual gold medal at the Orienteering World Championships and individual silver medal at the European championships, he has won eight medals with Norwegian teams in the relays at the world and European championships, including several victories.

Sigrid Alexandersen is a Norwegian orienteering competitor. At the 2018 European Orienteering Championships in Cadempino she won a bronze medal in the sprint relay with the Norwegian team, achieved a fourth place in the women's relay, placed 13th in the sprint, and 8th in the long distance. She competed at the 2018 World Orienteering Championships in Latvia, where she qualified for the sprint final. She was also Norwegian champion in sprint in 2018.
