Elina Shammi is a Bangladeshi model, presenter and actress. She made her debut in Shah Alam Kiron's '71 Er Ma Jononi in 2014. Known for her role in the highest grossing Bangladeshi film of all time Priyotoma and Mujib: The Making of a Nation , where she portrayed as Khaleda Zia, the former prime minister of Bangladesh.

Career

She made her debut with Shah Alam Kiran's war drama '71 Er Ma Jononi in 2014, based on Bangladesh Liberation War. [1] [2] In 2021, she starred in Raihan Rafi's web film Janowar , which earned her praise. [3] In late 2019, she appeared in Ashraf Shishir's longest non-experimental film and one of the longest film ever made Amra Ekti Cinema Banabo. [4] [5] In 2020, she acted as Colonel Hamid's wife in the Ashraf Shishir's 570 , revolves around the 36 hours that followed the assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and his family, the founding father and the first president of Bangladesh. [6] It has not been released yet. [7] In March 2021, her fourth film Aranno Polash's war drama Gontobbyo was released, inspired by the historic 7 March speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, where she spent Tk 42 lakh. [8] Then she played as an official of the detective bench of the Bangladesh Police in Anonno Mamun's thriller Koshai. [9] In the beginning of 2022, she appeared in Eftekhar Shuvo's mystery thriller Mukhosh , grants by the Government of Bangladesh. [13] In September 2022, she appeared in Rakibul Islam Rakib's drama Vaiya Re (Dear Brother). [14] In late 2022, she played as a scientist in Zulfiqure Zahedi's romantic thriller Kagaj: The Paper . [15] In the beginning of 2023, she played as Afsana Ara Bindu's elder sister in Mizanur Rahman Aryan's Chorki originals' web film Unish20 , [16] where Bindu made a comeback after eight years. In September 2023, she appeared in Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar's The Brave Son, based on Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's early life. Lutfur Rahman George is a Bangladeshi television and film actor. He has worked in films like Aguner Poroshmoni and Aynabaji. He is currently the organizational editor of Actors’ Equity Bangladesh. In 2023 he performed in Priyotoma, which is the highest grossing Bangladesh film of all-time.

Gohiner Gaan is a 2019 Bangladeshi musical film. The film written and directed by Sadat Hossain and produced by Enamul Haque under the banner of Bangladhol. The film stars Asif Akbar and Toma Mirza played lead roles and Syed Hasan Imam, Tanzika Amin, Aman Reza and Quazi Asif Rahman played supporting roles in the film. It is the first feature musical film of Bangladesh.

A co-production between Bangladesh and India, the film was directed by Shyam Benegal and stars Arifin Shuvoo in the titular role.

Priyotoma is a 2023 Bangladeshi romantic action film. The film was directed by Himel Ashraf, and is the second he has directed. It was produced by Arshad Adnan under the banner of Versatile Media. The film story was written by late Faruk Hossain alone and Himel Ashraf jointly wrote the screenplay and dialogues with him. It is a tragic love story that left an indelible mark on Sumon's life, shattering his world and left him forever transformed, featuring Idhika Paul, Shahiduzzaman Selim and Lutfur Rahman George in the lead role. Dard (transl.Pain) is an upcoming Indo-Bangladesh joint production psychological thriller film and in Bengali titled as Dorod (transl.affection), written and directed by Anonno Mamun and produced by Sarder Saniat Hossain, Kamal Mohammad Kibria Lipu and Himanshu Dhanuka. The film features Shakib Khan and Sonal Chauhan in the lead roles, making it is the first Pan-Indian film to be a Indo-Bangladesh joint production.

"O Priyotoma" is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language duet song sung by Balam and Somnur Monir Konal and composed by Akassh from the 2023 soundtrack album Priyotoma of the film of the same name, starring Shakib Khan and Idhika Paul. The song is written by Asif Iqbal. The song was released on 27 June 2023. The music video for the song was released on the same day under the music label Tiger Media.

Kagojer Bou is a 2024 Bangladeshi family-drama film directed by Chayanika Chowdhury and produced by Mahbuba Shahreen. The film stars D.A. Tayeb, Pori Moni, Mamnun Hasan Emon, Abul Hayat And Dilara Zaman.
