Elinor is a song written and produced by Swedish musician Basshunter, released as a single on 20 November 2013, by Rush Hour.

Background

On 26 July 2013, Basshunter announced he was retiring from singing to focus on DJing, producing, and songwriting, [1] however his sixth single "Calling Time" from the album of the same name, was released on 27 September 2013. [2] "Elinor" was released on 20 November 2013 by Rush Hour, [3] being released as a single by Ultra Records on 17 December, [4] and is a 3 minute and nine second-long dance song [3] with a tempo of 145 beats per minute in the key of A minor. [5] "Elinor" was written and produced by Basshunter. [6] In 2016, Basshunter returned to recording [7] and his next single "Masterpiece" was released on 19 October 2018, almost five years after "Elinor" was released. [8] [9]

In 2016, during an interview with Basshunter, Per Kågström from Göteborgs-Posten said it is strange that Basshunter sings many of his songs in Swedish abroad. Basshunter replied that the audience knows the lyrics anyway. [10] In 2021 Basshunter played "Elinor" live during the Øresound Festival in Copenhangen. [11] also playing in the Trädgår'n arena in Gothenburg and editor from Göteborgs-Posten considered this to be the best aspect of the Basshunter concert. [12]

The lyrics, in Swedish, are about using the voice chat program Ventrilo while playing Defense of the Ancients, a gamemode within Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. The song incorporates samples from the game. It was released as the second single from Basshunter's first album LOL.

LOL is the second studio album by the Swedish musician Basshunter, and was released on 28 August 2006 by Warner Music Sweden. An international edition was released on 22 December 2006, with a red version of the cover artwork. The international version includes the original album's Swedish songs with their titles translated into English, a slightly-different track order and additional tracks, including "Jingle Bells".

The Bassmachine, Basshunter's debut studio album, was released by Alex Music on 25 August 2004. In April 2006, he signed his first contract with Extensive Music and Warner Music Sweden. His single "Boten Anna" charted at number one on the Danish singles chart, where it stayed for fourteen weeks; it was certified triple platinum by IFPI Danmark. "Svag" is a song by Swedish singer Victor Leksell, released as a single from his debut album, Fånga mig när jag faller (2020). Leksell performed the song at Musikhjälpen in December 2019; following positive reception from fans, the song was released on 17 January 2020. "Svag" was written by Leksell along with Carl Silvergran, Felix Flygare Floderer, Kevin Högdahl, and Niklas Carson Mattsson, and produced by Silvergran, Floderer, and Mattsson. Daniela Sörensen, better known by her stage name Daniela Rathana, is a Swedish pop singer. She was born and grew up in Akalla and was a backup singer for Sabina Ddumba, Kent, Zara Larsson and Seinabo Sey before embarking on a solo career. In 2020, she released her debut EP, Halva vägen fri. In February 2021, she released the song "Testamente", a duet with Oskar Linnros. Her debut album is set for release in 2021 via Linnros' label Dundra; it will include the singles "Ansikte" and "Testamente". Her 2022 single "Vandraren" is inspired by Basshunter's "Boten Anna" and Crazy Frog music.
