The Bassmachine is the debut studio album by Swedish musician Basshunter. It was released on 25 August 2004 by Alex Music. In 2005 a remastered version of this album was released, with better sound quality and volume. In 2006 album was released on Basshunter webpage as The Bass Machine. All tracks listed on the album were re-released on The Early Bedroom Sessions in 2012.

Background and release

The release date was originally scheduled for July 2004. [1] Before the release on 25 August by Alex Music [2] album was available to pre-order. [3] Sample of album from Alex Music contained unreleased track. [4] Basshunter wrote and produced all tracks. [5] On 21 September the promo single "Syndrome de Abstenencia" was released by Alex Music [6] and the only single from album, "The Big Show" was self-released by Basshunter on 27 October. [7] In 2005 a remastered version of this album was released, with better sound quality and volume. [8]

The album contains ten tracks which last 51 minutes. "The Bassmachine" is the opening track and "Fest folk" is the closing track. The longest track on the album is "Syndrome de Abstenencia", which runs for six minutes and 34 seconds. Opening track is also the shortest track, lasting two minutes and 22 seconds. [5] David Jeffries from AllMusic described The Bassmachine and The Old Shit as mostly instrumental albums with the pounding and the fury of pre-electronic dance music style of stadium techno which was called jumpstyle. [9]

In 2005 "Syndrome de Abstenencia" (Original Mix) was released on compilation album Hard Trance Club Collection Vol. 1. [10] In 2006 on the occasion of the release of the LOL <(^^,)> album, [11] The Bassmachine album was released on Basshunter webpage as The Bass Machine. [12] LOL <(^^,)> included 2006 remix of "Fest folk". [13] English version of the song was released on the next version of album as "We Are the Waccos". [14] All tracks from The Bassmachine and seven tracks from The Old Shit was re-released as part of The Early Bedroom Sessions album in 2012. [15]

Meltdown is the fourth studio album to be recorded by the Northern Irish rock band Ash. The album was released on 17 May 2004 through Infectious Records and Home Grown. Following the success of their third studio album Free All Angels (2001), Ash debuted several new songs while touring throughout 2003. By October that year, they had travelled to Los Angeles, California, to record a follow-up album, which was co-produced by Nick Raskulinecz and the band. Recording sessions were held at Sound City Studios in Van Nuys and at Chalice Studios, Hollywood. Meltdown, which is described as a hard rock album, drew comparisons to the work of The Smashing Pumpkins and critics said the guitar work resembles that of Black Sabbath and Metallica.

It was written by Miranda Cooper, Brian Higgins, Tim Powell, Lisa Cowling, Paul Woods, Nick Coler, and Minogue, while production was by Higgens and Xenomania. The song is a dance-pop track, which features instrumentation of synthesizers and keyboards. LOL is the second studio album by the Swedish musician Basshunter, and was released on 28 August 2006 by Warner Music Sweden. An international edition was released on 22 December 2006, with a red version of the cover artwork. The international version includes the original album's Swedish songs with their titles translated into English, a slightly-different track order and additional tracks, including "Jingle Bells".

"Almost Blue" is a song recorded by English group Elvis Costello and the Attractions from their sixth studio album, Imperial Bedroom (1982). Written by Costello and produced by Geoff Emerick, the track shares the name of the group's previous 1981 studio album. Basshunter, a Swedish singer, record producer and DJ, has released five studio albums, two compilation albums, 30 singles, five promotional singles and seven remixes. The Bassmachine, Basshunter's debut studio album, was released by Alex Music on 25 August 2004. In April 2006, he signed his first contract with Extensive Music and Warner Music Sweden. His single "Boten Anna" charted at number one on the Danish singles chart, where it stayed for fourteen weeks; it was certified triple platinum by IFPI Danmark. "Boten Anna" also reached number one in the Swedish singles chart and was certified platinum by IFPI Sverige. His second studio album LOL, released on 28 August 2006, charted in the top five in Sweden, Denmark and Finland. The album was certified platinum by IFPI Finland and double platinum by IFPI Danmark. In late 2006, Basshunter released his albums The Bassmachine and The Old Shit through his own website. "Didn't We" is a song recorded by Irish singer and actor Richard Harris for his debut studio album, A Tramp Shining (1968). It was written and produced by Jimmy Webb and originally served as the B-side to Harris' 1968 single "MacArthur Park". "Didn't We" was then distributed as the record's single by Dunhill Records, also in 1968. A traditional pop song, Harris sings about his life in the past. Commercially, it charted at lower positions of both the United States and Canada, and in the higher ranks of their Adult Contemporary component charts. Harris featured "Didn't We" on several of his greatest hits albums, including The Richard Harris Collection: His Greatest Performances from 1973. The Early Bedroom Sessions is a second compilation album of electronic music that was recorded by Swedish musician Basshunter. The album is composed of 23 tracks in Swedish and English taken from his earlier releases. It was first released digitally on the Rush Hour label from 3 December 2012 and was later released as a double CD album on Ultra Records on 29 January 2013.

"Welcome to Rainbow" is the song by Swedish musician Basshunter. It was self-released by Basshunter on 1 April 2006. "Welcome to Rainbow" comprises four tracks, which were re-released on subsequent Basshunter studio albums.
