The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Beirut (Indonesian : Kedutaan Besar Republik Indonesia di Beirut) is the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Lebanon. [1] The first Indonesian ambassador to Lebanon was Dalindra Aman in 1996. [2] The current ambassador, Hajriyanto Y. Thohari, was appointed by President Joko Widodo on 7 January 2019. [3]

History

Since the 1950s, Indonesia has had diplomatic relations with Lebanon. On 11 November 1952, the Indonesian embassy in Cairo, Egypt was concurrently accredited to Lebanon. [4] Around 1955, the Indonesian government opened a diplomatic mission in Beirut, but it did not have embassy status. [5] Due to the start of the civil war in Lebanon, the Indonesian diplomatic mission in Beirut was closed in 1976. At the same time, the Indonesian embassy accredited to Lebanon also changed from the embassy in Cairo to the embassy in Damascus, Syria. [5] The diplomatic mission in Beirut was reopened as an embassy in 1996 with Dalindra Aman as the first Indonesian ambassador to Lebanon. [5] [6]

The current ambassador to the Czech Republic is Kenssy Dwi Ekaningsih who was appointed by President Joko Widodo on 13 February 2019.

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Bogotá is the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Colombia and concurrently accredited to Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados and the Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis. Diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Colombia were established on 15 September 1980. Initially, the Indonesian embassy in Brasilia, Brazil was accredited to Colombia. This continued until the Indonesian embassy in Bogotá was inaugurated after the arrival of the first Indonesian ambassador to Colombia, Trenggono, on 26 May 1989. The current ambassador is Tatang Budie Utama Razak who was appointed by President Joko Widodo on 25 October 2021.

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Pretoria is the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of South Africa and concurrently accredited to the Republic of Botswana, the Kingdom of Eswatini, and the Kingdom of Lesotho. The embassy is located at 949 Francis Baard Street in the suburb of Arcadia, Pretoria. Indonesia also has a consulate general in Cape Town and an honorary consulate in Mbabane, Eswatini.

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Addis Ababa is the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. The embassy is concurrently accredited to the Republic of Djibouti. In addition, the ambassador serves as the Indonesian representative for the African Union. The first Indonesian ambassador to Ethiopia was Suadi Soeromiharjo (1964–1968). The current ambassador, Al Busyra Basnur, was appointed by President Joko Widodo on 7 January 2019.
