The England cricket team were scheduled to tour Pakistan in October 2021 to play two Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. [1] The matches were planned to be played in Rawalpindi, [2] with both teams using them as their preparations for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. [3] England last toured Pakistan in 2005. [4] The T20I fixtures were scheduled to be played as double-header matches alongside the England women's games against Pakistan. [5] In August 2021, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made a minor change to the tour itinerary, moving the matches from the National Stadium in Karachi to the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium due to logistical reasons. On 17 September 2021, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said they would determine in the next 24 to 48 hours whether they will proceed with the tour or not, after New Zealand cancelled their tour of Pakistan due to a security threat. [8] On 20 September, the ECB announced that the series had been cancelled, [9] citing issues around wellbeing and concerns of travelling to the region. [10] The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja expressed his disappointment on Twitter and criticised England for "failing a member of their cricket fraternity". [11]

The WT20I fixtures were scheduled to be played as double-header matches alongside the England men's games against Pakistan, with the WODI matches being used as preparation for the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup. The two teams last played each other in Malaysia in December 2019.

The New Zealand cricket team toured Pakistan in September and October 2021, and were scheduled to play three One Day International (ODI) and five Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. It was New Zealand's first tour of Pakistan since 2003. However, on the morning of the first ODI match, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) raised a security alert with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Pakistan Government, which resulted in the entire tour being called off.

The England cricket team are scheduled to tour Pakistan from September to December 2022 to play three Test matches and seven Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The Test matches will form part of the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship.

The West Indies cricket team toured Pakistan in June 2022 to play three One Day International (ODI) matches. Originally, the matches were scheduled to be played in December 2021, but were postponed after multiple cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the West Indies team and support staff. The ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–23 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League.
