Eremosyne pectinata, the sole species in the genus Eremosyne, is an annual herb endemic to the south coast of Western Australia.
Historically it was placed in the Saxifragaceae family. It was placed in its own family, Eremosynaceae, under the Cronquist system; later merged into Escalloniaceae; before being restored to Eremosynaceae in the APG II system. [1] Recent studies have confirmed its affinity with Escalloniaceae, and the Angiosperm Phylogeny Website now includes it in that family. [2]
Eremosyne pectinata is largely confined to the Warren region of the Southwest Botanic Province of Western Australia. [3]
Austrobaileya is the sole genus consisting of a single species that constitutes the entire flowering plant family Austrobaileyaceae. The species Austrobaileya scandens grows naturally only in the Wet Tropics rainforests of northeastern Queensland, Australia.
Banksia nobilis, commonly known as the golden dryandra, great dryandra or kerosene bush, is a shrub of the family Proteaceae which is endemic to Western Australia. It occurs on lateritic rises from Eneabba to Katanning in the state's Southwest Botanic Province. With large pinnatifid leaves with triangular lobes, and a golden or reddish pink inflorescence, it is a popular garden plant. It was known as Dryandra nobilis until 2007, when all Dryandra species were transferred to Banksia by Austin Mast and Kevin Thiele. There are two subspecies, B. nobilis subsp. nobilis and B. nobilis subsp. fragrans.
