Eternal Rituals for the Accretion of Light is the third full-length studio album from American art rock band Junius. The record was released in CD, limited edition Vinyl, and digital download format through Prosthetic Records on March 3, 2017.
After the departures of long time guitarist Michael Repasch-Nieves and bassist Joel Munguia Reynolds, Joseph E. Martinez wrote and recorded the album in 15 months with founding member Dana Filloon on drums. Additional vocals and lyrics on "A Mass for Metaphysicians" and "Clean the Beast" by Drew Speziale (of Circle Takes the Square). Joel Munguia Reynolds has since returned to the band as their touring bass player. [1]
Junius' 2011 LP Reports from the Threshold of Death explored the soul's journey after death and with Eternal Rituals for the Accretion of Light the soul reincarnates and tries to break free of Samsara. The album's 10 tracks serve as a guide for the Initiate to reach transcendence. It also completes their trilogy of albums starting with The Martyrdom of a Catastrophist, Reports from the Threshold of Death and ending with Eternal Rituals for the Accretion of Light.
Eternal Rituals of the Accretion Light received generally positive reviews from critics. Revolver Magazine lists "Clean the Beast" as one of their top 50 songs of 2017. [2] Received Album of the year from Rock and Roll Fables. [3] No. 8 album in 2017 from Vancouver Weekly. [4] It was No. 3 on Excretakano of Metal Sucks top albums of 2017. [5] Album of the Year from Godless and No. 3 from Chuck of The Metal Podcast. [6]

Extreme metal is a loosely defined umbrella term for a number of related heavy metal music subgenres that have developed since the early 1980s. It has been defined as a "cluster of metal subgenres characterized by sonic, verbal, and visual transgression".
Metalcore is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. Vocalists in the genre typically yell or scream. Some later metalcore bands combine this with clean singing, often during the chorus. Death growls and gang vocals are common. 1990s metalcore bands were inspired by hardcore while later metalcore bands were inspired by melodic death metal. Melodic death metal bands like At the Gates and In Flames influenced later metalcore bands.
Circle Takes the Square is an American screamo band from Savannah, Georgia. It is composed of founding members Drew Speziale and Kathleen Stubelek, as well as Caleb Collins. Their debut release was a 6-track self-titled EP released in 2001, followed by a 7" split with Pg. 99 in 2002. In 2004, they released their debut studio album As the Roots Undo on Robotic Empire, which released the CD, and HyperRealist Records, which released the gatefold LP. The album gained them considerable acclaim and the band toured extensively to promote it during the year. This included a six-week east coast tour that took the band into Canada for the first time, supported by Arkata and Raise Them And Eat Them. The band's sophomore album, Decompositions: Volume Number One, was released after an 8-year silence on December 21, 2012 as a digital download; physical editions of the album were released in April 2013.
Les Trois Accords is a Quebec rock band from Drummondville. The band launched its first album Gros mammouth album in 2003. Some of the notable songs, taken from that album, include "Hawaïenne", "Saskatchewan" and "Lucille". Along with their videos, these songs received heavy exposure in Quebec. In 2004, Gros mammouth album turbo was released with two extra tracks, "Loin d'ici" and "Turbo sympathique". In 2006, they released their second album, entitled Grand champion international de course.
Leviathan is the second album by American heavy metal band Mastodon, released in 2004 on Relapse Records. It is Mastodon's first concept album, loosely based on the 1851 novel Moby-Dick by Herman Melville. The songs "Iron Tusk", "Blood and Thunder", "I Am Ahab" and "Seabeast" were released as singles. Three magazines awarded the album Album of the Year in 2004: Revolver, Kerrang! and Terrorizer. In 2009 and 2015 MetalSucks named Leviathan the best metal album of the 21st century.

In This Moment is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California, formed by singer Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth in 2005. They found drummer Jeff Fabb and started the band as Dying Star. Unhappy with their musical direction, they changed their name to In This Moment and gained two band members, guitarist Blake Bunzel and bassist Josh Newell. In 2005, bassist Newell left the band and was replaced by Jesse Landry.

After several years of planning, the title was made available on September 27, 2011 through Translation Loss in CD format and on November 22, 2011 through The Mylene Sheath in vinyl format. However, the vinyl release was limited, and only 1,000 copies have been pressed for distribution. Junius / Rosetta includes two original tracks by both bands and a download card to obtain additional content online, including two cover songs originally by Soundgarden and Hum.
Junius / Juarez is a 10-inch vinyl split EP by American art rock band Junius and American post metal band Juarez. The release was limited, with only 500 copies pressed for distribution. The record was released by UsTwo Records, an independent record label that specializes in releasing vinyl only split releases.
Days of the Fallen Sun is the fourth EP by American art rock band Junius. It was released on February 18, 2014, through Prosthetic. The track "The Time Of Perfect Virtue" was originally recorded on the split EP Junius / Juarez, while the track "A Day Dark With Night" was originally recorded on the split EP Junius / Rosetta. The track "Forgiving The Cleansing Meteor" was made available for streaming on Pitchfork prior to the EPs release.
