Achalcus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.

Acropsilus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is unplaced in the family, having been placed variously in subfamilies such as Sympycninae or Peloropeodinae. It is superficially similar to the Medeterinae.

Australachalcus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is very closely related to the genus Achalcus, in which some of its species were originally placed. The name Australachalcus refers to the southern hemisphere, where the genus reaches its highest levels of species richness.

Epithalassius is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae, with eight known species. They are generally found in the Palaearctic, occurring on sand beaches near the coast. An exception to this is E. africus, which was described from a damaged female specimen collected near Brazzaville in the Republic of the Congo. The generic assignment of this African species has been doubted. E. corsicanus has also been recorded from Saint Helena in the Atlantic Ocean, and is probably an introduced species to the island.

Orthoceratium Genus of flies

Orthoceratium is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. Only two species are included in the genus, Orthoceratium lacustre and Orthoceratium sabulosum. They are known from the West Palaearctic and Tanzania.

Sybistroma Genus of flies

Sybistroma is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It includes over 50 species, described mainly from the Palaearctic and Oriental realms. A single species is known from the Afrotropical realm. Until 2005, the genus was thought to be restricted to the Mediterranean in distribution, with five known species. It was recently expanded to include the former genera Hypophyllus, Ludovicius and Nordicornis, as well as some species of Hercostomus.

Tachytrechus Genus of flies

Tachytrechus is a genus of long-legged flies in the family Dolichopodidae.

Hydrophorinae Subfamily of flies

Hydrophorinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. According to Germann et al. (2011), the subfamily is polyphyletic.

Dolichopodinae Subfamily of flies

Dolichopodinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.

Neurigoninae Subfamily of flies

Neurigoninae is a subfamily of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.

Peloropeodinae Subfamily of flies

Peloropeodinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. According to Germann et al. (2011), the subfamily is polyphyletic.

Gymnopternus Genus of flies

Gymnopternus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It was formerly placed as a subgenus of Hercostomus, but is now accepted as a separate genus.

Poecilobothrus Genus of flies

Poecilobothrus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.

Argyra argyria Species of fly

Argyra argyria is a species of fly in the family Dolichopodidae. It is distributed in Europe and North Africa.

Parathalassiinae is a subfamily of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is part of an expanded concept of the family, Dolichopodidae sensu lato, and forms a monophyletic group with Dolichopodidae sensu stricto. It was once placed provisionally in the subfamily Microphorinae as the tribe Parathalassiini.

Lyroneurus is a genus or subgenus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. Its rank is not currently certain; it has variously been placed as its own genus or as a subgenus of Diaphorus. More recently, it has been suggested by Pollet et al. (2004) to be a synonym of Chrysotus, but some authors maintain generic rank noting that Chrysotus is possibly paraphyletic.

Argyra perplexa Species of fly

Argyra perplexa is a species of fly in the family Dolichopodidae. It is distributed in Northwestern Europe, Italy, Hungary and Portugal.

Wiedemannia is a genus of flies in the family Empididae.
