Euparkerella tridactyla is a species of frog in the family Strabomantidae. It is endemic to Brazil. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest. It is threatened by habitat loss.
The giant anteater is an insectivorous mammal native to Central and South America. It is one of four living species of anteaters, of which it is the largest member. The only extant member of the genus Myrmecophaga, it is classified with sloths in the order Pilosa. This species is mostly terrestrial, in contrast to other living anteaters and sloths, which are arboreal or semiarboreal. The giant anteater is 182 to 217 cm in length, with weights of 33 to 50 kg for males and 27 to 47 kg for females. It is recognizable by its elongated snout, bushy tail, long fore claws, and distinctively colored pelage.
The black-legged kittiwake is a seabird species in the gull family Laridae.
The brown four-eyed opossum is a pouchless marsupial of the family Didelphidae. It is found in different forested habitats of Central and South America, from Nicaragua to Brazil and northern Argentina, including southeastern Colombia, Paraguay and eastern Peru and Bolivia, at elevations from sea level to 1,500 m (4,900 ft). It is the only recognized species in the genus Metachirus, but molecular phylogenetics studies suggest that it should probably be split into several species. Population densities are usually low, and it is uncommon in parts of Central America. A density of 25.6/km2 (66/sq mi) was reported near Manaus, Brazil. Its karyotype has 2n = 14 and FN = 24.
Euparkerella, sometimes known as Guanabara frogs, is a genus of frogs in the family Strabomantidae. They are endemic to the Atlantic coastal forests in the south-eastern Brazilian states of Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro. The name Euparkerella honours H. W. Parker, a herpetologist who named the type species, with the Greek prefix eu meaning true and suffix ella, a diminutive form.
The Cameroon soft-furred mouse or Cameroon praomys is a species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is found in Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
Euparkerella brasiliensis is a species of frog in the family Strabomantidae. It is endemic to Brazil. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and rural gardens. It is threatened by habitat loss.
Euparkerella cochranae is a species of frog in the family Strabomantidae. It is endemic to Brazil. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest. It is threatened by habitat loss.
Euparkerella robusta is a species of frog in the family Strabomantidae. It is endemic to the state of Espírito Santo in southeastern Brazil. It has been recorded from the municipality of Mimoso do Sul and the neighboring Atílio Vivacqua. Common name Izecksohn's Guanabara frog has been proposed for it.
Noblella lochites, also known as Ecuador leaf frog, is a species of frog in the family Strabomantidae. It is found on the Amazonian slopes of the Andes and Cordillera del Cóndor and the Cordillera de Cutucú in Ecuador and Peru; the Peruvian record has been disputed, although it is nevertheless expected that the species occurs in Peru.
Noblella myrmecoides is a species of frog in the family Strabomantidae. It is found in the upper Amazon Basin of southeastern Colombia, eastern Ecuador, eastern Peru, Bolivia, and western Brazil (Amazonas). Common name Loreto leaf frog has been coined for this species.
Microhyla borneensis, also known as the Matang narrow-mouthed frog, is a species of microhylid frog found in the Matang Range in Sarawak, Borneo. It was once the smallest known frog from the Old World. Adult males of this species have a snout-vent length (SVL) of 10.6–12.8 mm (0.42–0.50 in), but adult males can reach a maximum of 13 mm (0.51 in),and adult females of this species have a snout-vent length of 16–19 mm (0.63–0.75 in), Tadpoles measure just 3 mm.
Stumpffia tridactyla is a species of frog in the family Microhylidae. It is endemic to Madagascar. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, and plantations. It is threatened by habitat loss, Stumpffia tridactyla with a snout-vent length of 8.6–12 mm (0.34–0.47 in),Stumpffia tridactyla is a terrestrial microhylid frog, its males average length is 10–11 mm (0.39–0.43 in).Stumpffia tridactyla are usually slow moving critters but, when startled they can jump sharply up to 20 cm considering their small size.
Syncope tridactyla is a species of frog in the family Microhylidae. It is found in the Amazon rainforest of Brazil, Peru, and Ecuador. Its natural habitat is tropical moist lowland forests. It is not present in modified habitats and is thereby locally threatened by habitat loss, but this is not considered to be a significant threat to the species as whole.
