The Europcar Cup was a professional team golf tournament played yearly in Biarritz, France, from 1985 to 1988.
The tournament was designated as an "Approved Special Event" on the European Tour schedule. A further event was planned in 1989 but was cancelled. [1]
The event was contested by national teams of four players. Each golfer played four stroke-play rounds; the best three scores for each round being used for the team's score for that round.
The 1988 Europcar Cup took place 3-6 November. Sweden won the 1988 event by 6 strokes with a score of 810, 18 under par. The Swedish team was Magnus Persson, Johan Ryström, Mats Lanner and Jesper Parnevik. [2]

Liselotte Maria "Lotta" Neumann is a Swedish professional golfer. When she recorded her first LPGA Tour win, by claiming the 1988 U.S. Women's Open title, Neumann also became the first Swedish golfer, male or female, to win a major championship.
Helen Christine Alfredsson is a Swedish professional golfer who played primarily on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour and is also a life member of the Ladies European Tour. She won the LPGA major Nabisco Dinah Shore and twice finished second in the U.S. Women's Open. She also won the Women's British Open once and the Evian Masters three times before those events were designated as majors in women's golf by the LPGA Tour. The 1991 World Cup took place 31 October – 3 November 1991 at the Le Querce Golf Club, name later changed to Golf Nazionale, 30 miles north of Rome, Italy. It was the 37th World Cup event. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 32 teams. Each team consisted of two players from a country. The combined score of each team determined the team results. The Swedish team of Anders Forsbrand and Per-Ulrik Johansson won by one stroke over the Wales team of Ian Woosnam and Phillip Price. The individual competition was won by Woosnam. This was the second team victory in professional golf within a month for Sweden, winning also the 1991 Dunhill Cup for three-men teams, were the Swedish team also included Forsbrand and Johansson. By the win, Sweden became the first nation to simultaneously hold the team titles in the Eisenhower Trophy, the Dunhill Cup and the World Cup in men's golf.

Each team consisted of two players from a country. The combined score of each team determined the team results. The United States team of Fred Couples and Davis Love won by one stroke over the defending champions, Swedish team of Anders Forsbrand and Per-Ulrik Johansson. The individual competition was won by Brett Ogle of Australia after a playoff with Ian Woosnam of Wales.
