The impact factor (IF) or journal impact factor (JIF) of an academic journal is a scientometric index that reflects the yearly average number of citations that articles published in the last two years in a given journal received. It is frequently used as a proxy for the relative importance of a journal within its field; journals with higher impact factors are often deemed to be more important than those with lower ones.

Hindawi Publishing Corporation publisher

Hindawi Publishing Corporation is a commercial publisher of scientific, technical, and medical (STM) literature. Founded in 1997, Hindawi currently publishes more than 230 peer-reviewed scientific journals as well as a number of scholarly monographs, with an annual output of roughly 20,000 articles each year. As of April 2019, 71 (30%) of its journals were indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded, with a further 107 (46%) journals indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index. The company has its headquarters in London, an office in Cairo and a virtual office address in New York City. Since 2007, all of Hindawi's journals have been open access and published under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY). Aldrichimica Acta is a scientific journal published by Sigma-Aldrich. Established in 1968 in Milwaukee, Wi, Aldrichimica Acta publishes reviews in the field of synthetic organic chemistry, with each issue focusing on a special topic. The journal is open access. In 2015, the Acta was ranked #1 among journals in the field of organic chemistry by impact factor.

Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta (GCA) is a biweekly peer-reviewed scientific journal published by Elsevier. It was established in 1950 and is sponsored by the Geochemical Society and the Meteoritical Society. The editor-in-chief is Jeffrey Catalano. Geologica Acta is a peer-reviewed open-access scientific journal that covers research in the Earth sciences. Acta Geographica Slovenica is a biannual peer-reviewed scientific journal of geography published by the Anton Melik Geographical Institute covering human geography, physical geography, and regional geography. The editor-in-chief is Blaž Komac. It was established in 1952 as Acta Geographica/Geografski Zbornik. In 2002 it merged with Geographica Slovenica, obtaining its current title reflecting this merger in 2003.

Journal of Insect Science is a peer-reviewed open access scientific journal covering entomology. It was established in 2001 with support from the University of Arizona by Henry Hagedorn. In 2014, after the death of Henry Hagedorn, the Entomological Society of America assumed responsibility for the journal, and it switched to publishing with Oxford University Press. The editor-in-chief is Phyllis Weintraub.
