The European Multisport Club Association (EMCA) [1] is a sports organization representing the interests of multisport clubs in Europe. [2] It was created with an initiative of the multisport club S.S. Lazio. [3]

Contents

EMCA is also a partner of the House of Sport [4] and member of the European Platform for Sport Innovation. [5]

Purpose

The aim is the development and dissemination of sports, as a mean of psycho-physical and moral integrity, promoting the activities of the affiliated sports clubs operating on European scale and organizing projects, erasmus trips and events for the exchange of good practice, sports promotion, maintenance of the human body in shape and entertainment youth activities. Particular attention is given at the fight against doping, intolerance and violence, access to sport for people with disabilities, social inclusion of immigrants and gender equality . [6]

In the European sport system a significant role is played by multisport clubs who – through their multiple involvement on a large variety of sports – understand better than anyone else the different social dimensions, impacts and needs of sports. [7]

Projects

EMCA organizes projects in association with erasmus trips, to promote the Olympic Spirit, spread of values and civic behaviour, importance of physical activity, voluntary activities, integration of young refugees, multisport approach of young athletes and to report fraud, bribery, abuse, bullying and manipulated illegal sport betting. [8] Finally, particular interest represents the acquisition of new knowledge and skills, through teaching and education, for multisport coaches' development, helping kids choose the most suitable sport. [9]

The Department of Physical Education is the academic department that oversees the physical development program at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. DPE is headquartered in the Arvin Cadet Physical Development Center. DPE has 24 Military faculty and 25 civilian instructors and professors. The head of the department holds the ceremonial title of Master of the Sword, known within the department as the MOS. This title dates back to when the Cadets at West Point were taught swordsmanship as part of their military and physical training. ESN vid Åbo Akademi r.f. is the official ESN section of the Erasmus Student Network at Åbo Akademi University, the only Swedish-speaking multidisciplinary university in Finland. The CSIT – International Workers and Amateurs in Sports Confederation is an international multi-sports organization. It was established as the successor to Socialist Workers' Sport International and as such celebrated its centenary in 2013. The core principles of contributing to physical activity and sports have stayed in its action policy; upholding the right of men and women to do sports no matter what are their professionalism levels. The key concept of the CSIT's sport policy has always been "Sports for all". The policy stems from the historic ideas of the international worker sport movement.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">European Non-Governmental Sports Organisation Youth</span>

European Sports NGO Youth is the non-governmental umbrella youth organisation of ENGSO. It has the aim to represent the young Europeans in sports in 34 countries and to achieve, promote and support the implementation of the ENGSO guidelines for children and youth sport. ENGSO Youth promotes health, sustainable development, sport diplomacy, education and employability, and inclusion through sports. ENGSO Youth is member of the European Youth Forum since 2007.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Great Britain Bandy Association</span> Sports governing body

The Great Britain Bandy Association (GBBA) is the governing body of the sport of bandy in the United Kingdom. It is based in The Fens part of Cambridgeshire, East Anglia. Formerly, the federation was named Bandy Federation of England. After some years with less activity, the federation was restarted and given the name England Bandy Federation in January 2017. In September 2017 the present name was adopted, as the federation widened its scope to all of the UK.
